The Final Lesson of the “Inspirator”

In a very telling letter to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Howard of "Citizens for Peaceful Resolutions," begs for clemency* for Stanley "Tookie" Williams, who is scheduled to die on December 13 for murdering four people in 1979:
I have promised myself not to write about the death penalty without first honoring the victims. So, today, I honor Albert Owen, Thsai-Shai Yang, Yen-I Yang and Yee Chen Ling ...
I am ashamed to say I know almost nothing about the four victims. But I do know a lot about Williams. Not about the Crips thug who allegedly committed those 1979 murders, but about the man so many of us now admire and love—the man who speaks out against gangs and guns, the author whose life work has moved us to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Not surprisingly, Howard's shame doesn't drive him to learn more about these victims, and apparently not about their families, whose lives have been devastated by Williams' heinous crimes, but Howard does propose that the victims be made Nobel winners along with "Tookie." Naturally the victims have no say in any of this—being dead has that effect—but surely the sharing of a Nobel with their cold-blooded murderer should stop all the spinning they are doing in their graves ...
Whether Gov. Schwarzenegger grants clemency to Williams or not, Williams' victims—and let's list them again, to "honor" them:
Albert Lewis Owens,
Thsai-Shai Yang,
Yen-I Yang, and
Yee Chen Ling
—his [victims will barely earn a Google search. Williams, on the other hand, has earned praise and fame, having become the latest black cause célèbre. If you haven't heard about him yet, Williams is the founder of East L.A.'s Crips gang, which is responsible for countless crimes, including theft, drug-dealing, assault, rape, and murder. Williams has renounced his Godfather-like status as head of the Crips (prison guards say otherwise, but what do they know?), and has "apologized" for all the trouble his gang has caused, but he has yet to apologize to the victims—to do so would be an admission of his guilt. In the meantime, he has been writing books for children, to convince them that they shouldn't join gangs. This, according to Williams' supporters, should earn him the Nobel, clemency from the Governor, and ultimately a "Get out of jail, free" card.
The liberal celebs are starting to come out of their wormholes again, so this is going to get to a tremendous pitch before it is over. Liberals love a murderer, especially one who refuses to take responsibility for his actions. This allows them to blame "the system" and not the person, which is inherent to liberal philosophy. To quote Jamie Foxx, who starred as Williams in the movie Redemption and co-produced a song dedicated to Williams, called "Real Soon," this isn't just about clemency for a reformed prisoner; it is all about the "cats in the struggle."
One of the more rousing speeches given in Williams' behalf can be found at SaveTookie.org, where Calvin Broadus, aka Snoop Dogg, has this to say:
Tookie is an inspirator. He inspires me and I know I inspire millions, so if he inspires me and I'm inspirin' millions, you add that up! —that's over 100 million people that's inspired by what he do.
Indeed. This from a man who "inspires" the youth in L.A. with these high-minded life lessons:

The Rev. Jesse Jackson is on the case—shocker!—partnering up with other Doggy-style celebs without a thought to biblical injunctions that warn against forming strange, unholy alliances. But he gets a pass here, for Williams claims to have found God during his seven-year stint in "The Hole" at San Quentin. Williams' favorite book is the Bible, and that, too, should earn him clemency, say his supporters, who otherwise have little time for the Bible, especially when it starts breaching the "wall of separation between Church and State." Apparently, the Tookmeister, like Jesse Jackson, is a selective reader, ignoring the laws of God that demand justice, or the decrees that insist upon repentance as a prerequisite to redemption.
Gov. Schwarzenegger now has a choice. From a political standpoint it will be a tough one, because blacks, with a track record for ignoring facts, will rally to Williams' defense, and white liberals will use blacks for their own leftist purposes, just as they did with Mumia Abu-Jamal and other Marxist street thugs of Black Panther notoriety. Despite Williams' claim that he has been railroaded, there is no question of his guilt, and if he truly wants to teach the young people to not follow his example, he will admit to his crimes and take his just deserts.
No clearer message can be sent: If you murder, you will pay for it with your life. So, to the Governator I say, truly honor the victims by giving them justice. And to the Inspirator, prove your redemption with a final message to the kids, and go down like a man.
