Iranian and Syrian Time Warps
By John A. Ross (12/16/05)
Oblivious to realty, the Iranian and Syrian regimes muck about as though they are still in the 7th century, or, even more pathetic, a client of the now defunct Soviet Union. Obsessed with staying in power of populations that hate the very ground they walk on, the Iranian and Syrian regimes have apparently concluded that their people do not have brains and cannot read. Despite the best efforts of both despotic regimes, there is a near free flow of information into and out of both Iran and Syria and the people, except for regime goons, can digest and use vast amounts of unbiased data.
Confusing the Mullahs in Tehran is the fact that the cassette tape medium they used in the 1970’s is no longer a primary means of sharing information, more importantly nobody wants to hear what they have to say. Lack of meaningful employment, rampant official corruption and total rejection of the regime’s Islamic objectives best enumerates the reasons for the animosity between the Mullahs and the average Iranian. Recent overtures and clumsy maneuvers designed to return Iran back to the “revolutionary ideals” of the early 1980’s further solidifies the total abhorrence the majority of Iranians has for the fascist Islamic regime.
The despotic Mullahs that are convinced the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or Pasdaran, and Islamic volunteers, or Basij, can force Iranians to endorse their fascist Islamic goals is akin to believing that Cyrus The Great did not exist. The Iranian people, under Cyrus The Great, documented and enforced universal human rights eleven hundred years before militant Muslims forced Islam on Iran. The well-educated and informed Iranian populace is very much aware and resists the lies the manipulating Mullahs attempt to use in trying to control the diverse populace. The boycotting of the last two national elections by the majority of Iranians is glaring proof that they are not accepting the Mullahs’ manipulations.
Overwhelmingly, the Iranian people seek a secular and democratic minded government. They, the Iranian people, want to rid themselves of the manipulating Mullahs that have proven they will do anything to stay in power. In this area, the Iranian Secular National Party in exile, or INSP, has been formed to work within Iran and with the Iranian Diaspora around the world to remove the Mullahs from power.
Aware of the fact that Soviet Communists professed suddenly to be democrats, when it became obvious that they would be swept from power, the Iranian people will not permit any vestiges of the Mullahs’ regime be incorporated into the government that replaces them. Accordingly, the most important tenet of the Iranian National Secular Party (INSP) is that, regardless of ethnicity or religious beliefs, all members must support national democratic secularity.
As for the Syrian morass they too must also realize that murdering anyone that opposes the regime in power and weapons from Russia will not be enough to prevent people from having freedom. The Syrian regime has already been kicked out of Lebanon and the next logical step is the people of Syria demand, as the Iranians have, an honest referendum.
The Iranian, Syrian and Iraqi people represent the cradle of humanity and must be permitted to be free.
