How To Destroy America
"Government is not a solution to our problem[s],
government is the problem." -- Ronald Reagan

It's Time to Worry about Global COOLING

"...an utterly corrupt new religion called environmentalism..."
If the history of this planet's climate over millions of years is any guide, we are about to enter a new ice age.

BRIAN BOGART: "Peace Studies" Student
By Ari Kaufman (01/31/06)

Back in October, I made my monthly pilgrimage to fraudulent filmmaker, Michael Moore's website. When I was finally able to sift through all the self-promotion, I came across an emblazoned, proud link to a website called, Strike for Peace, which hailed a graduate student in Oregon who was getting his advanced degree in "Peace Studies."

Upon linking over, a Brian Bogart was revealed to me. As I read more about his life and times, I learned that this man is no ordinary left-wing college student. A pacifist to the core, he continuously revels in claiming that we are a nation of warmongers, and that the Army "used to make its own tu! na sandwiches," but now they give companies like Bumble Bee "lucrative Pentagon contract, not to speak out against war." Lack of coherence to the statement aside, this was surely an egregious story worth delving further into.

Brian's overall agenda was the usual: he was on strike from the! start of the semester until the US disarms, stops murdering the innocent, pulls out of the War on Terror, and so on. A Caucasian, he joined the NAACP as a youth, and has studied Taoism, Gandhi, the Bible and the Holocaust in-depthly. Clearly, self-aggrandizement is not lost on him.

One of Brian's two primary advisors is - no surprise - Noam Chomsky, and Bogart has also "built bridges" with anti-Cold War hero Carl Sagan, lived and studied in Japan, and so happened to begin his writing career on the very night John Lennon! died. He now lives in Oregon, where he can be "as far as I could get from weapons research."

And, although Bogart's original home page, sponsored by the anti-war group "Znet," is seldom updated, he and the Strike for Peace group, are involving themselves in the usual anti-American, anti-war banter. While Bogart continues to claim we are a war-driven, ruthless country with universities he wants no part of, he still somehow manages to research in a university setting as he enters his fourth year of graduate work as the only student in the University of Oregon's "Peace Studies" graduate program. On any site related to him and his projects, Bogart is found maintaining death trackers of American war casualties, the cumulative expenses of the Iraq War, as well as various statements, assailing Americans as "addicted to war."

But what further interested - as well as troubled - me about Mr. Bogart, was that he claimed to have worked in the defense industry for numerous years as well. Aside from my initial confusion as to his qualifications to engage in such a profession sans a college degree, Bo! gart presented the typical perplexing hypocrisy of the radical left movements.

In an interview for "Monthly Review Magazine," Bogart rambled on about the United States oppression of other "peaceful nations," and the suffering our soldiers have endured due to our government. His overwhelming, oft-repeated thesis is one he asks himself at the onset: "Our top industry has been the manufacture and sale of weapons -- and we're a peace-loving nation?"

Continuing, Bogart rattled off the usual pessimistic rhetoric about his country, with statements like, "Americans have lost control of America, or possibly never really had control," and states that far too much money goes to fight unnecessary wars like the Cold War and The War on Terror. (Bogart seems to be utterly blinded to the fact that war solved slavery, ended the Holocaust, destroyed Communism in Eastern Europe, Fascism in Japan and parts of Europe, saved Israel from extinction, and salvaged half the Korean peninsula.)

Rather, he like many of his ilk, feel that for at least the past 55 years, our administrations have fought wars mostly for profit via corruption, and to basically sustain the war industry for their own benefits. He closes his rant to an obviously sycophantic interviewer by chastising Americans for not realizing these rudimentary facts, and, likewise, for not understanding "what's really happening."

After naturally encouraging us to engage in some form of participatory democracy by joining his "strike for peace" group in protest, Bogart gets a few last jabs in at his country. He notes that war is "killing any chance at equal rights, a clean environment, fair elections, a balanced media, a just world, and a peaceful and meaningful future." Coincidentally, he then stated neither facts nor instances to back these whirlwind, defamatory claims.

Bogart's juvenile observations during his alleged time in the Defense Industry surrounded some sort of clandestine initiative he deemed The Pentagon was involved in to quell any dissent against our country's wartime activities.

Sayeth Bogart in one of his diatribes, "Americans are being hired and trained as cogs in the war machine, paid to be silent workers and accomplices, paid to participate in the industry of war while being influenced to ignore the violence and wastefulness of war. (US military budget, $1 trillion a year; education budget $59 billion a year.)

The Pentagon's plan for the next 20 years is an arms race when we're alre! ady at the top. We're telling the rest of the world to build up for war because we're the world's Wal-Mart of weapons."

As he moved into the usual bashing of "Big Business" via the anti Wal-Mart statement, he continued by stating that war is good for business, but in! a holier-than-thou fashion, replete with vague statistics, but certainly worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize:

"On Wall Street, war is good for business, but America's business should be its people's prosperity; our global business should be life's prosperity.

31! 0,000 companies supply the Pentagon; 56 in Eugene, 300 in Portland, 3600 in San Diego. Even a small town such as Lowell, Oregon, with a population of 750, pulls in $1.5 million a year from the Pentagon. These business contracts would not be so disturbing were the Pentagon interested in a reasonable defense rather than total global domination at the expense of domestic prosperity.

At least 50% of our taxes support the war industry, not counting Homeland Security, Army Corp of Engineers, NASA, and education programs for defense, foreign policy, and national security. America has 6000 military bases domestically and nearly 1000 bases overseas.

But the sorriest example of our priorities -- aside from poverty, a crumbling infrastructure, and a world full of weapons -- are the more than 350 schools s! erving as weapons laboratories. Just two of these, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins University, take in a combined $1 ! billion a year and rank among the top-50 defense contractors."

And that would serve as the initial reason Bogart decided to show his displeasure at our country's efforts to fight terrorism by striking against his "war-supporting university." It is odd to read of a man, advised by devout radical, Noam Chomsky, yet en! raged at left-wing institutions like the University of Oregon and M.I.T., the latter whereupon Chomsky is a "legendary" professor.

Written in mid-September, Bogart laid out his plans of peaceful attack:

"Beginning at noon on Monday, September 26, the first day of th! e new academic year, I will refuse to study inside the classroom of any school that sells itself to war, and I will deliver my Petition for Peaceful Priorities to University of Oregon's President Frohnmayer at the same time it's being delivered to the White House by Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Code Pink and Global Exchange. Then I will speak against war all year from noon to dusk, to focus public attention on statistics that reveal America's obscene war-for-profit economy and my university's deepening participation in it."

In the closing of his October 19 int! erview with the "Monthly Review" Magazine, the interviewer asked Bogart how his efforts are going so far. Bogart responded as such, "In just three weeks we have succeeded in prompting our faculty and senate to address the issue of pentagon-funded research. We have also been invited by members of Parliament as delegates to the December 2005 International Peace Conference in London, so we at strikeforpeace.org are seeking funding assistance."

Interesting that Bogart, like most radical henchmen, not only seeks to have his ego massaged in the International Arena, but now "seeks funding." Double Standards must not be an obstacle he wants to overcome in his efforts toward peace.

There has been scarcely any updated information on any of Bogart's sites since the "peace conference." And if the New York Times, Washington Post, and incendiary periodicals such as The Nation have not reported on! his organization, we can safely and happily conclude that nothing was ever mustered from this grass roots endeavor.

The United States Is Being Overthrown By Our Politicians - "A silent but all-reaching coup is taking place within the United States. This coup is not being directed by bomb-laden Muslim terrorists, nor will it ever be covered by the mainstream media. The seditious act is being carried out by our very own elected officials, with President Bush leading the insurrection."
"The FDA has conveniently used the excuse of looking out for consumer safety to increase their perverse regulatory power, undermine free speech, disrupt commerce, and generally get in the way of helping people improve their health. The "half-truth" of the safety issue is used as a ploy to reduce the rights of Americans, one freedom at a time. Once again, the FDA is seeking more police power to intimidate supplement companies. This is one step in an overall FDA master plan to eliminate therapeutic nutritional supplements from the free market. Those who lose are the American public." The FDA - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
