A Correction Must Be Made
By Rob Hood (02/05/06)
REGARDING AN EARLIER ARTICLE OF FEBRUARY 2 CALLED : The War Looms On
I made a statement in the article that I failed to research due to the fact that I trust people who send me emails to be up to date. Sometimes I do the homework on these things and sometimes I don't. In this case I did not. Here is my earlier statement:
Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family is leading a boycott against Madeline O'Hare, a vowed atheist who alone is responsible for the discontinuation of the CBS show 'Touched by an Angel" because it mentioned God too much. She is also responsible for taking prayer out of the schools.
First of all, stupid me spelled her name wrong. The other thing is, according to a friend, this lady has been dead for quite some time. This statement was a mistake on my part and I apologize for the mistake.
However CBS came to cancel Touched By and Angel I don't really know. Maybe it was just time to go like all other show due to lower ratings. Also, because of this silly miscalculation on my part, I smeared the name of a great American, Dr. James Dobson and I sincerely apologize. Dr. Dobson has done more good for American Christians than he is given credit for.
I went back and searched the internet and it appears that most of this statement I made was based on an old internet email rumor and has nothing to do with CBS or with taking prayer out of schools. It appears to be just another fake and my silly mistake. However, I did not make a mistake on the subject at hand. There are individuals and groups out there that appears to be hostile towards Christianity and yes some schools were stripped of public prayer not by a lone individual, but by a critical judges that should have not had a place at the table of justice. I do congratulate Judge Alito and Judge Roberts for their victory and confirmation. They sure had to fight an uphill battle, but they won and that's all it counts. If we could just get two more like them, we could really make a difference in American culture and faith.
Once again, my mistakes have made me look less credible among other great writers. The fact of the matter is that we as humans all make mistakes and this one was NOT intentional at all. I'll be careful from now on about who encourages me to do articles on emails sent to me. Anyway, the damage is already done and I have corrected my mistake. Thank you, readers, for understanding and still supporting me.
