On the position of the British National Party
By Letters To The Editor Dave Cheetham (02/11/06)
Sir,
With reference to the numerous articles, on the position of the British National Party, I would like to clear a few things up. Firstly, Mr Locke speaks truly of the current state of the Party, in terms of where we have been and where we are going. The BNP, like all political parties in the UK, does have a few members, who perhaps do not toe the party line, but, aside from that, is a peaceful political outlet for many Britons, who favour Nationalism as opposed to Marxism. Mr Williams, it would appear, is not representative of the common thought of many people who live and work within our borders. He appears, in fact to be the very type of person, who would stop at nothing, in order to stifle free speech, and expression. Mr Williams' take on Great Britain's history concerning ethnic minorities in the UK, confirms his warped sense of history, which has been forced upon us over the last 50 years or so, and has suddenly, and overwhelmingly taken over our once proud historical position. The very fact, that the London Borough of Southwark, purports to being a hub of multiculturalism, dating back over 400 years. Historically, this is not true. This kind of representation of the United Kingdom, is, in itself damaging, and sends the wrong message to the rest of the world. In this country of ours, two people, can be tried in a court of law, for making statements at a private political meeting, yet, in the same vain, thousands of immigrant demonstrators, can walk around freely, holding placards calling for death and murder, of non-Muslims, yet the police, stand idly by and allow this kind of thing to happen. This is a true reflection of the state of affairs of Great Britain at this time. Just because a political party, which represents a differing point of view from Mr Williams, is now the fastest growing political party in Britain, it doesn't mean that particular party is full of skinhead, jackboot wearing thugs.
Your Sincerely,
Dave Cheetham (Royal Navy Retd).
