Republican Election Strategy: Demspeak more, McCain speak less
By J. James Estrada (04/26/06)
The great saving grace for Republicans heading into elections is the penchant of the loons in the Democrat party to speak their minds. That is, they supply Republicans with quotes that reveal their hatred for America. Think of Dick Durbin demeaning our military. Yes, Republicans need to talk up their conservative ideals and serve up a solid policy agenda to the electorate, but, their greatest ally are the Democrats themselves.
To wit: 1) Democrats call leakers of national security information “whistleblowers.” 2) Democrats deride the renewal and implementation of the Patriot Act. 3) Democrats continue to call for legal rights for terrorist detainees. 4) Democrats fail to recognize that Iraq is the frontline of the war on terrorism. 5) Democrats demand impeachment proceedings against the President for the surveillance program which monitors enemy communication. 6) Democrats relentlessly hold the water for environmental groups, and by doing so, have prevented the country from becoming less dependent on foreign sources for oil. 7) Democrats live to preserve “the right” for mothers to kill their unborn children in the womb.
As a Republican then, it is best to let the Dems speak and speak loudly. Go about your work, but don’t get in Howard Dean’s way. Don’t get in the way of Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
Don’t get in the way of the aforementioned Dick Durbin as he derides the war effort. But, John McCain is doing just that. McCain has said this week that he would support a hearing on Donald Rumsfeld. This hearing would feature the seven retired generals who have called for Rumsfeld to resign.
Quite frankly, as an Arizona resident, I would like a hearing on McCain for his disgusting impersonation of a Republican. Please believe me when I say I would have more than seven witnesses to call. McCain, by joining the Left, negates the best election strategy the Republicans have – let the Dems, with their lunatic talk, steam away from the mainstream and fall off the fringe into utter electoral darkness.
