TONY SNOW WILL BOOST BUSH'S RATINGS!
By Gordon Bishop (04/27/06)
Tony Snow is one of my favorite columnists because he challenges President Bush, even though Snow is a true conservative.
As a conservative syndicated columnist myself, I know how difficult it is for a commentator on issues and events to disagree with a Republican President who sometimes behaves like a liberal Democrat by approving the biggest federal education budget in the history of America, and signing off on a multi-billion-dollar prescription entitlement and other socialist programs.
Maybe Snow will finally find out who the "real President Bush" is like working side-by-side with one of the most complex Presidents in American history as his latest press secretary.
Like Snow, I stand behind Bush on the global war on terror and the current battleground in Iraq, where this terrorists’ war will be won or lost by Western Civilization.
If the terrorists win, it’s all over for Western Civilization founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and morals based on the 10 Commandants. Terrorists have declared war on all Jews, Christians and "infidels," the latter being all Americans who terrorists and their followers view as a society of abortionists, corruption, criminals and the equivalent of the 21st Century biblical Sodom and Gomorrah, which God destroyed as an evil place of self-indulgence, prostitution, crooks and all the other failings of humanity.
So here we are, Bush reaching out to the people through his spokesman, Snow, a brilliant communicator who has succeeded in print, radio and television. For Bush, it doesn’t get any better than that. For Snow, he’s taking a huge salary cut as a celebrity writer to take on same exhausting domestic and global tasks as the President of the United States.
Snow is still recovering from a serious, life-threatening cancer last year with the removal of his colon (stomach) and undergoing months of sickening chemotherapy and dramatic loss of weight.
Now he’s joining Bush in a life-and-death struggle to save Western Civilization and its ideals of liberty, freedom and opportunity.
For Tony Snow, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be on the frontline of history-in-the-making, a turning point for all of humanity. At 50 years old, what a place to be for Tony Snow, who’s already won one life-and-death struggle with cancer.
Bush brought Snow aboard despite the fact that Snow has uttered some strong language in his columns, radio and television shows.
Snow has called Bush "something of an embarrassment," a leader who has "lost control the federal budget," the architect of a "listless domestic policy" and a man who has a habit of singing from the political correctness hymnal."
When Bush confronted Snow over such bitter criticism, Snow responded, "You should have heard what I said about the other guy."
Snow, an easy, mild-mannered to like, thanked his new boss for the job and told his colleagues in the mainstream media, "Believer it or not, I want to work with you."
I will surely miss Tony Snow’s candid and intellectual website and his daily appearances on his radio and television shows and as a political analyst for the Fox News channels.
What a great career Snow is giving up to work with a strong-willed political leader who currently has a 34 percent approval rating in liberal media polls.
Most Americans have forgotten that George W. Bush beat the pants off liberal Senator John Kerry when Bush won the 2004 Presidential election by three million votes, the first president to win such a majority since the master communicator Ronald Reagan ousted liberal President Jimmy Carter in 1980.
Yes, there is still hope for Conservatism over Liberalism in America with a tall, lanky communicator from Cincinnati, Ohio, who knows how to tell it like it is.
Go for it, Tony!
