An Army of One (Million Mexicans)
By J. James Estrada (05/05/06)
What to do with 11 to 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S. is the question of the day. How do we clear out these day labor work areas that are plaguing cities and towns throughout the country? Thatâs another good question. Prison inmate populations dominated by illegals? Ditto. The answer to take care of all three problems is this: put âem in the Army!
Bud Abbott and Lou Costello made a number of classic movies in which they became members of the French Foreign Legion, remember? While we donât mean to suggest making a comedy of our military and the war effort, why not train these workers âwho do the work Americans wonât do,â and get them over to Iraq and Afghanistan? After two years of service, they are granted U.S. citizenship. They can choose to remain in the military at that time, or, join civilian society as legal, law-abiding Americans.
A win-win scenario? Illegal alien problem solved? U.S. force strength increased on the frontlines? Yes. Win-win. Additionally, Charles Rangel, Congressman from the Bronx, New York, suggests that poor black men are the fodder for the U.S. military because they are easily recruited as foot soldiers. No more. A million Mexican nationals will fill the gap. This is a win-win-win situation.
Now the question is: who in the Latino community will become the Louis Farrakkan of his race and lead this million man march to downtown Baghdad?
