Annoy Gays - Hire A Boy Scout

The Shenandoah Valley in Virginia is a beautiful place for a visit, or even to own some land if you can afford it. The air is clean, the forests are green, and it’s so quiet.
But, there is only one thing out in the Shenandoah that really annoys: There are hundreds of persistent black gnats that buzz around your head. They can land on your head and inflict a minor bite. Other times they just walk around on your skin and itch.
The wondrous Shenandoah, and by contrast its negative nagging gnats, remind me a lot of America and the persistent Gay agenda political lobby. I am not homophobic, but I do think gays should keep their “housekeeping” and intimate matters to themselves. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to hear about the intimate activity of anybody, including gays.
Some gays can’t understand or accept this. Apparently one of their “needs” is to force anybody they can to listen to slogans and sad stories about their lifestyle. These days they are trying to force our children to listen. They are pushing programs into our public schools. This is not just annoying, it’s just plain wrong! Parents are in the best position to explain “gayness” to their own children.
It’s not that I’m mean or insensitive, I simply don’t want them foisting their lifestyle on my kids or me! Call me old fashioned, but I happen to believe in marriage between a man and a woman for the purpose of bringing children into the world. I also happen to believe that a Mom and a Dad are the best combination for the benefit of the children. Our children are our future.
I have noticed gay people around me my entire life. My mother worked for a furniture store for a while when I was young, and that’s when I first heard about gays. I was asking my mother why a male store employee walked and acted in an effeminate manner, because I understood this behavior to be associated with women. Today I realize that the gay store employee fit a stereotype, but the truth is the truth – to me, his demeanor stood out!
Mom explained that this gay man was the most qualified interior decorator that the store had ever hired, and it was a very large upscale store. He had a gift for setting up displays in a way sure to sell product, and he was paid handsomely. He was a real nice guy and everyone liked him. If anybody didn’t like him or gave him any trouble because he was gay, I never heard about it.
He minded his own business – didn’t try to tell anybody how to live- and didn’t ask me to listen to how he chose to spend his personal or intimate time.
In other words, he didn’t behave as a victim, but as a successful businessman and artist.
Soon after, I noticed a gay couple attending our church. Perhaps you, dear reader, have had the same circumstance in your lifetime? I asked Dad and he confirmed that it was known that these two ladies had been living together for years and that they had once indicated to somebody in church that they were lesbians. They were welcomed at all activities – nobody paid them any special attention or ever heard anyone speak out against them. My dad’s attitude was, “so what?”
My neighbor’s son was gay. For years we noticed that Jimmy never dated. He was a great musician, playing the organ for his church and otherwise lived a very quiet life. We would have never known he was gay, except my parents saw him leaving a known gay bar with a companion one night in downtown Miami. Jimmy was embarrassed, but other than confirming something that we already half knew, it was no big deal.
J. Edgar Hoover was not gay, but I’ve worked with gay people in the FBI. I also “cleared” gay people who were working for the White House with the FBI background process – and these gays were not in the Clinton administration!
In other words, this entire issue of gayness is a real mystery to me because they’ve never especially bothered me, and I’ve never harassed them. But, I’ve learned to have an intense dislike for their political agenda which I find to be remarkably destructive.
Frankly, I’m getting tried of hearing about the “gay agenda,” aren’t you? Those who promote this obvious political movement have tried to make us believe that gays are a walking army of victims. In fact, demography strongly suggests that gay men are among the richest group of “victims” living in the United States today.
For the past several years, those who promote the gay agenda have been trying to tear down the Boy Scouts because the Scouts will not permit men as leaders who are atheists, or who profess a gay lifestyle. The Boy Scouts are a private organization and the Supreme Court has recently decided, unanimously, that the Scouts can allow or prevent anybody from joining for whatever reasons they choose.
The Scouts don’t have to have a politically correct reason to reject an applicant – their reasons are good enough for the Supremes! This, of course, is one of the greatest things about living in America – you get to associate with those you want to associate with, not with those the government insists you must!
But that’s not good enough for gay activists or those who support the gay agenda. So, America has to be constantly pestered about it. As the black gnats of the Shenandoah must buzz around our heads because they must do what they must do, the gays must, apparently, be continual victims of something in order to feel good about themselves.
Now, I guess, they’re victims of the Supreme Court?
The Boy Scout organization represents the best traditions this country has to offer. I’m getting angry hearing about and reading about the senseless attacks on this wonderful group by members of the gay agenda and those useful idiots who reflexively support every attack on American Traditional Values. But, there is something we can do about this!
I suggest each one of us in a position to hire and promote find out during our pre-employment interviews whether the applicant is, or ever has been, a Boy Scout. If we learn the applicant has been a Scout, I suggest we quietly give preference to him. If he’s earned Eagle Scout rank, plan to eventually put him in charge because if he’s an Eagle he’s worked very hard and is exceptionally honest. Few Scouts earn the rank of Eagle.
In either case, you will be hiring a good man who believes in God and has kept himself “morally straight.” He’ll probably also be trying to raise a family, so maybe you ought to increase his salary.
Affirmative Action for Boy Scouts is one sure way to send a message to the gay agenda political lobby that we will not allow ourselves to be extorted by bullies, nor will we allow anybody to tear down one of our most precious and respected traditions.
Call it backlash if you like – that term works for me.
