Jewish Guilt Gone Wild
By Ari Kaufman (08/05/06)
Why do my theophobic Jewish friends ignore the ethos of current events and history and regularly come back at me with "The Chrisitians are just as dangerous as the Radical Muslims. You should know if you know history. They will convert us or make us go to hell. Keep Jesus OUT of my life"?
Hmm...as opposed to cutting our heads off and blowing up our homes and infrastructure. No, left alone to themselves, much as the Israelis would never harm another "Palestinian," the worst the "Jesus Freaks" would do is ask if you love Christ, then walk away and continue to support Israel. {Of course, most of us, including me, have never actually been asked if we love Jesus and likely never will be.)
An abortion clinic shooting or two 15 years ago does not compare to what recently occurred at the synagogue in Seattle and will continue to tragically take place. Tim McVeigh (Oklahoma City, 1995) was an atheist. Atheism, a "religion" many Jews partake in, is nearly as dangerous as Radical Islam, just as being totally apolitical is nearly as dangerous as being a terrorist-appeaser.
Do we all get it now? This is NOT 1245 or even 1945! Do not note the Crusades as reason to hate Christians. It is eerie how most Jews, even Israelis, were FAR more upset about a fact-based film like "Passion" (relax, Gibson has already apologized twice for his words the other day; that separates him from the vehement Jew haters in our nation like Noam Chomsky , Lou Farrakkhan and Cindy Shithan who would NEVER apologize, but somehow his initial sincere apology was not good enough for Abe Foxman of the ADL which is typical of an elite Jew. Read more from James Hirsen who is right on the money) than about "Fahrenheit" or "Munich." Also, it is a curious irony how many secular Jews will rant at me or my friends/family for dating/marrying Christians and being happy, and instead go "keep the faith" and marry some witch of a Jewish woman. (My friends/family who are married to Christian or foreign women are just as religious, happier and more politically conservative, too)
This is not a reflection of my time in the midwest either, but I am beginning to feel more comfortable at the dinner tables of Christians than at the elite Jewish dinner tables, sans my immediate family. Unlike at the Jewish tables where the moms are talking about college admissions, sororities, Jennifer Aniston movies, Keith Olbermann, "stupid Bush and the redneck Christians" while not allowing me to speak and addressing me - a published journalist and author - pedantically, the Christians respect our religion and me as well. They also vehemently and unequivocally support Israel. Polls continuously back this up. These thoughts do not make me less of a Jew. Conversely of course, it makes more MORE of a Jew. To not understand this is very telling.
And when I hear some family man say that "he thanks the lord, Jesus Christ, for all that he has given him," although I thank a different G-d, this does not offend me and I do not feel he is imposing his ways upon me. When Mohammed Atta thanks Allah for supplying him 72 virgins as he rams a plane into the World Trade Center this DOES offend me. I honestly wonder where my Jewish ilk stands on these accords. If I didn't, I wouldn't have published half a dozen similar pieces on said topic, and it wouldn't bother me so much that I'd spend time penning and revising this article.
However, the more we Jews (especially the Christian haters) act like elitist idiots and bash them, the more they (the Christians, that is) will eventually learn to question why the heck we act this way (it's already happening, unfortunately), not to mention our misdirected anger will cause us to take our eyes off of the REAL enemies: Muslim fundamentalists. Maybe if we properly address them as Muslim Nazis that would get the Jews' attention. Surely, a suicide bomber at the Oscars in March would perk their antennae.
I wish we Jews weren't all lawyers and educators; it would be so much easier that way. That way legal relativism and political correctness (not calling the shooter in Seattle a Muslim radical) would not obfuscate the bigger picture. I'm really struggling with this as you can see, and it saddens me. No one has given me even a remotely decent answer why the bulk Jews, often irrespective of political affiliation, despise Christians, and I'm pretty certain that's because there is not one. Christians and Catholics today are not the same people as their ancestors 200, 100 or even 50 years ago.
Judeo-Christian values must prevail. Even rabbis, priests and ministers know that.
Comments from my most recent article are copied at the end of this diatribe for your convenience and say it all. No, that the lutheran reverend from North Dakota (second diatribe) enjoyed my work and made sense of it all does not scare me. He's a former Democrat if that makes it better.
But tell me, when did a secular Jew last wax so poetically? Few things have been more telling than the left's (the Jewish left's) vitriolic hatred of Tom Delay who is...was..the BIGGEST supporter of Israel in Congress. Of course, nearly all Republicans support Israel. The Dems? Well, not so much. The Blacks? Absolutely NOT. Half of them are Muslims even though the Muslims were the biggest, longest and most vicious African slaveholders in the world. It won't tell you that in the politically correct textbooks, of course.
And that's okay, as when we are hit in 2009 and thousands are dead in LA or Boston on a pacifascist president's watch, we'll all long for the cowboy days just like we do now for Reagan, Ike and even Japanese-interning FDR. Can you imagine what the ACLU would have said about that move by the icon of liberalism?
"Loved your "Know who your enemies are" article. I for the life of me cannot figure out why Jews do not know southern Christians, like Tom Delay, are the best friend Israel ever had. We truly believe the Jews ARE God's chosen people. As such, we MUST support them. You cannot believe in God and abandon Israel and the Jews. Yet American Jews don't seem to understand Republicans believe that. Clinton sold the Jews out, yet most American Jews don't seem to mind. I can only assume American Jews are that in name only; most do not attend Synagogue. I only hope and pray that the Jews in Israel know we Republican Americans pray and support them."
"I can say from my personal perspective as a Christian that it is not my desire nor the Lord's whom I serve that anyone be "forced" into faith. The church has had moments when force was used, but that was in direct violation of his commands, not in accordance to it (and there were those like Ambrose and Augustine who made this point over and over again though many would not listen). Further, I know of no Christian minister who would ever force someone to convert precisely because it violates our Lord's command that people come to him freely. Yes, we evangelize as we are commanded to do; yet that should be seen as free speech and not coersion. I have had Muslims try to convert me, and I didn't try to tell them to shut up because they were coercing me. I understood they had the freedom to try and win me over to their point. I for my part used my freedom to try and win them over to Christ (which actually happened). The point I would make is that while there certainly are definite faith differences between Christians and Jews with regards to whether or not Jesus is the Son of God, there are no differences with regards to issues of morality; and there is absolutely no fear of pogroms or forced conversion to be had here. What is more, while there are differences in faith concerning Jesus between us, is it not true that in this country Christians and Jews have not had violence between them, but allow for these differences and even protect them? Good luck with that if the secularists take over or an Islamic state runs things. The Communist and the Islamic states will destroy both church and synagoge (that is their history)."
"Mel Gibson, another suspected anti-Semite, is suspected of making MANY hostile comments about Jews during his career and his arrest fur DUI yesterday. But does his BEHAVIOR harm Jews? Does he support Hezbollah? I am a Christian and I believe in God. I have many Jewish friends who also believe in God. I don’t doubt their ascension to Heaven nor do I try to convert them to “save them.” We joke all the time about our faiths but, when the time comes, we’ll be there to help one another – and we have been. If words hurt you and you fear Christians, it is your deeply imbedded personal problem, not mine to convert you. If you start lobbing missiles at my home, it becomes my problem. And if you don’t stop, I will pressure your neighbors to stop you. And if they don’t stop you (acquiescence), I will attack you AND the neighbors who harbor you with more force than you’ve attacked me with. And if, like Hezbollah, you threaten to kill me, I will not rest in my defense until you have either relented, surrendered, or are killed. And if my sister, wife, or brother betrays my trust to help you hurt me and my family, I will consider them vermin who are also candidates for death. I will call them vermin not because of their religious backgrounds, but because of their behavior and lack of morality."
