Cathartic Toby Keith Is America's Patriot!
By Gordon Bishop (08/21/06)
If you want to see patriotism at its best in America, just go to a Toby Keith concert. This Oklahoma country-western singer is the embodiment of Patriotism in America.
My wife and I went to a Toby Keith concert at the Garden State Arts Center in central New Jersey near the Jersey Shore. Remember, New Jersey is a deep blue state, with 1.8 million registered Democrats and only 900,000 registered Republicans.
Even in hostile liberal territory, Toby drew a massive audience of young and old alike, captivating an audience of some 7,000. This guy (6 feet two inches at least) is a walking, talking powerhouse of what the red, white and blue flag is really about.
Toby’s faithful fans (he’s been in New Jersey three times in the past five years) pour into the amphitheatre along the Garden State Parkway with their SUVs, big vans and motorcycles as if they’re going to a Nascar speedway.
This is red-blooded Americans reminding America that when Toby shows up, New Jersey suddenly becomes a Red State, instead of a liberal Blue State.
So much for a divided America!
What pulls all of these people together is that Toby, a curly haired blonde, blue eyed, guitar strumming master musician, is his unabashed All American boy charm and humor. He really makes Bruce Springsteen, New Jersey’s leftist liberal, look like a runt who screams into a rock n’ roll microphone with anti-American songs like” Born In The USA,” instead of a poetic lyricist like Toby Keith, who makes magic with his pro-America and traditional conservative values, like families, flag and uplifting fun for everyone.
I’ll take Toby any day over Bruce, Freehold’s gift to the music world.
Toby became the face of the War on Terror when he went to Iraq and brought his proud patriotism to the troops on the front lines when he told the terrorists in one of his songs, “We’ll put a boot in your ass.” Toby wears big, tough boots – and you don’t want to be kicked by either one.
Yes, Toby is today’s “model cowboy” singing America’s songs of freedom and liberty.
Toby makes his fans feel good about themselves and their country. He attacks the terrorists, not America or Americans, which is so common among the Far Left rockers, who raised millions of dollars for the likes of Al Gore and John Kerry, both losers in their bid for the Presidency.
Country-western singers are generally conservative in their values, as opposed to America’s rock stars, who prefer the Gores, Kerrys or Howard Deans and Ted Kennedys of the liberal Democrat party.
I happen to like Democrats. Not so for liberal socialists who have taken over the Democrat party. My favorite Democrat President was Harry ‘The Buck Stops Here’ Truman. He was the last great Democrat President.
Truman was loved by Americans, as Republican Ronald Reagan (a former Democrat) was loved by Americans of both parties.
When I hear patriotic leaders like Toby Keith sing the praises of America and the troops fighting the War on Terror, I see hope and liberation for America and the rest of the free world from the leftist liberal-socialist-Marxist dictators and losers.
I usually don’t write columns about today’s ideological concerts because there’s too many other important issues I must write about to save this once great Constitutional Republic from self-destruction. And we’re on the road to implosion. Ultimately, we get what we deserve. Apathy and selfishness are killing America.
Toby Keith, however, deserves special attention because he puts on the most powerful and memorable shows in the world – and he’s up against some stiff competition, such as Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill (his wife), Alan Jackson and all the rest of the finest country singers in America.
I love it when Toby plays his patriotic songs on his red-white-blue electric guitar, with USA flags on stage and red-white-blue confetti and streamers fluttering down from the concert ceiling, draping thousands of happy souls with America’s breathtaking colors.
This is America. This is Toby Keith land, the land of the free and the brave. And Toby’s doing everything he can to keep it that way for future generations to enjoy.
It’s too bad the liberal rockers can’t do the same.
