EVERY Monday for months this past spring, my Bush-hating friends bombarded me with the latest approval ratings for the president: "25%, 30%, 21%, lowest in history...." CNN and CNN.com were equally ebullient with the reports.
Well, now that Bush is creeping toward 50% in the polls(1), gas prices are $2.14 down the street from me, hurricanes (a pathetic political tool of the left) are non-existent, Air America Radio is bankrupt, Ann Coulter's book has sold millions and we are continually seeing what a bunch of psychotic madmen these Radical Islamists are and who is keeping us safe from them, my antagonistic acquaintances are rather silent and CNN, to no one's surprise, no longer has their weekly updates.
Yet, those who live lives of secular, hedonistic opulence or write for "elite" newspapers, are still concerned over wiretapping, "secret prisons," the future of Roe, and the Pope's honest, historically-backed remarks.
Funny country.
