Even A 'Pope' Has The Right To Express His Feelings!
By Gordon Bishop (10/02/06)
What’s all the fuss over one sentence from a 14th Century Byzantine Emperor?
Enough, obviously, to inflame the Islamic World and their radical anti-life terrorists.
It’s okay for terrorists to use their swords to take off the heads of innocent civilians or to blow up children, women and men who are Christians, Jews or “infidels.”
All Americans are branded as “infidels” by these suicidal terrorists.
What’s going on here?
What’s going on is that America and its freedom-loving allies are fighting World War III. If the terrorists win, we all lose: Death to the infidels!
Why the Pope is forced to apologize for quoting a one-sentence excerpt from a 14th Century emperor is beyond comprehension. Freedom means just that: Freedom to speak what you believe. In America, freedom of speech is the foundation of our Constitution.
Here’s the excerpt the Pope read from a dialogue between the Byzantine Emperor Manual II Paleolgus and “an educated Persian” about Christianity and Islam. Said the emperor:
“Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
Those 32 words sparked protests, demonstrations and marches throughout the Islamic world.
Al-Qaida in Iraq and its allies said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as “the worshipper of the cross,” saying “You and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere… We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose the ‘jizya” tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (being killed by) the sword,” as reported by the Associated Press, the world’s largest news service.
These death-loving terrorists just don’t get it. As an American, I have the right to believe in Christianity, the faith I chose as a child growing up in a Judeo-Christian civilization. Why should my head be cut off I chose not to convert to Islam?
This is insane! Irrational! In Comprehensible! A cancer-like Madness!
The Islamic terrorists preach “peace” to the world, yet want to destroy more than half the world’s population that’s not Muslim.
Today’s terrorism is 10 or 1,000 times more horrific than World Wars I and II, which were wars against Germany and its allies. These were wars between nation-states.
Today’s global war on terror is a fight not between nation-states, but against an ideological religious declaration to wipe out all humankind that doesn’t want to join their death-over-life “Holy War.”
Rational human beings prefer Life over Death!
I don’t know of any Jews, Christians or “infidels” who want to slit the throats of any Islamic Muslims, or to blow themselves up and their own houses of worship as well.
What’s really inconceivable to normal humans is why Islamic terrorists want to blow themselves up, or kill other Muslims, or blow up their own mosques. This makes no sense at all. What’s the point of killing your own brothers and sisters, or mothers and fathers, or sons and daughters?
My only question is why liberals and socialists in America demand that the United States end the war in Iraq and also sympathize with the terrorists who already have killed some 3,000 innocent civilians on September 11, 2001 by blowing up the World Trade Center Twin Towers, the Pentagon and the commercial airline that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania?
What’s wrong with these liberal-socialist “Americans?” Why do they hate President George W. Bush more than the terrorists who have declared war on America and its allies?
It comes down to dirty and ugly politics. The liberal-socialists would rather destroy Bush and lose the war in Iraq, so they can return to power in the White House and the United States Congress.
Now we know who the real enemies of America are.
