Kean Stands Up For America - Menendez Does Not!
By Gordon Bishop (10/30/06)
This letter-to-the-Editor by John Kalinauskas, Manalapan, in the Asbury Park Press, New Jersey’s second-largest newspaper, says it all about this November 7th election:
“As we come closer to the day when we will exercise our right to vote, remember that U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) voted no to mandating English as a first language and yes to Social Security benefits for illegal immigrants. He also was an ardent supporter of former state Attorney General Zulima Farber.”
State Senator Thomas H. Kean Jr. endorses English only and is against Social Security benefits for illegal immigrants.
Here’s what an editorial in the Press that same day (Oct. 23) had to say about Democrat Zulima Farber, who has since been fired by the Governor as Attorney General:
“Former Attorney General Zulima Farber’s boyfriend, whose traffic stop in the spring ultimately led to Farber’s forced resignation, failed to show up for his recent court date in connection with that stop.
“Why? Because he was off vacationing with Farber in Mexico.
“Thumbing their noses at the law appears to be in the genes of the former First Couple of New Jersey law enforcement. Farber was tabbed for the attorney general post by Governor Jon Corzine, despite having racked up at least 12 traffic violations, three license suspensions and four bench warrants for failure to appear in court.
“Farber’s live-in-beau, attorney Hamlet Goore, was twice disciplined by the New Jersey Supreme Court and had two companies he founded shut down by the state treasurer for failure to pay corporate taxes. He also had his driver’s license suspended at least 11 times.”
Meanwhile, Senator Menendez is under federal investigation for making hundreds of thousands of dollars from a nonprofit housing project in Hudson County and failing to report that information to federal authorities.
Hudson County is the most corrupt county in New Jersey and its U.S. Senator represents that Democrat regime.
New Jersey deserves what it gets because of crooked politicians that voters continue to elect to public office at the local, county, state and federal levels of government.
New Jersey has the unfortunate distinction of having the highest property taxes in the nation, the highest automobile insurance rates and the highest per pupil cost of education.
So much for a state that is the home-base for the popular “Sopranos” television Mafia series on HBO.
New Jersey is a deep blue liberal Democrat state because of voters who really could care less about a state that can’t balance its fiscal budget every year. The new governor has taxed just about every human needs and activities, except food and clothing.
Instead of shrinking state government, Governor Corzine increased the state budget by $2 billion to a record $31 billion right after he was sworn into office last January.
He brought back old bureaucracies that were shut down by a former Republican governor, and created new bureaucracies filled up by his political cronies, those who supported his election. To the “victor belongs the spoils” – compliments of New Jersey’s taxpayers.
Is this any way to run a State Government? You bet it is for a liberal party that “owns” a liberal state.
Businesses and residents alike are leaving New Jersey because they can no longer afford a government out of fiscal control.
I have seen many of my friends and relatives moving to neighboring Delaware and Pennsylvania, as well as the Carolinas and Florida, because of excessive taxation and regulations. Not to mention blatant corruption!
Until New Jersey votes for candidates who don’t run for public office only for selfish, material motives, the Garden State will continue to slide deeper into debt, threatening our “quality of life” and the ability to serve the middle class and the growing number of senior citizens who find their way of life is no longer affordable.
New Jersey, pathetically, has become known as the laughable “Jersey Joke.” Get out when you can before you go bankrupt because of the state’s crooked politicians.
I’m biting the bullet for my family, while trying to survive in a sick Blue State.
