It's Time For A National Military Draft!

Not for 'combat service', but for everything but that.
Every American and resident alien from age 18 to age 40 should be required to serve for two years and two months in the US Military.
No excuses, excepting "extreme" medical exclusion. People that enlist into a 'national guard' or the military would be exempt.
A special (two month) 'boot camp' system would be created that excluded extreme physical requirements needed for combat service. All other normal and appropriate requirements would apply, including military law.
All would receive a base pay of $20,800 per year to be increased based on rank above 'private' achieved by merit. All would be eligible for normal active duty military medical, leave and similiar benefits. However, their pay would be subject to all civilian taxes, including 'social security'.
Excepting by volunteering, all people would be exempt from service outside of the USA. Those that volunteered for service outside of the USA would get a minimum 10% bonus.
Individuals that so choose would be able to request extended service up to a total of 40 years or until they were 65 years of age. The extended service would be subject to approval of the specific military branch where serving.
Educational systems would be required to provide appropriate credits for such service based on job description and performance of the individual.
Mush minds and idiots by choice would get jobs as dishwashers, etc. Those that wished could get extra training and education on off duty (unpaid) time to advance their duty assignments.
Every person would be eligible to test based on civilian educational background for appropriate positons including Officer level service.
Mind you this is a basic premise, but too many Americans have no concept of what they enjoy by being Americans and expect everyone but themselves to protect those benefits.
Non-combat military service is out of the realm of the complaints of the 'peacenicks' and other candy-a** Left wing wimps! Our military provides many functions other that breaking things and killing people.
People that refuse to help protect their own country, deserve to move to another country!
