Newt Gingrich For President, Condi Rice For Veep.
By John Longenecker (12/17/06)
I love and admire both Condoleezza Rice and Newt Gingrich. Keep them in sight for 2008.
Dr. Rice is already most experienced in being Secretary of State among other things, and would be a naturally fine ambassador as the Vice-President is often summoned to be and without the constraints of the State Department. It’s also great for her to be next in line for the Presidency over the Speaker Of The House.
Speaking of Speaker of the House, former Speaker Newt Gingrich has spoken on values we all share perhaps much more than some might admit. This is the bridge between the conservatives and the conservative democrats-elect. If you’re looking for some de-escalation of partisan animosity, it’s going to come from this ticket but without the compromises of the past.
One of the most important qualifications for this ticket is that each is most good-hearted, but then strong, a superb combination in dealing much more with life’s realities than fantasy and so-called political realities. America needs that superior combination of strength and open-mindedness, but not someone who’s let their brains fall out, and there’s just too much of that in throughout politics.
Case in point: how the republicans lost Congress. Too much etiquette, not enough leadership. Too much cooperation and compromise, and not enough partisanship, and don’t think partisanship is a bad thing; it’s the very reason people are elected. They dropped the ball on that, and how.
One of the best qualities both Condi and Newt share is the boldness of statement the republicans failed to show on a variety of issues – border security, the unreasonableness of much of homeland security, and so much more.
Backing their boldness of statement of values is the experience of action over the years, an excellent resumé. Some people hate them for it, but what is hated by some, is admired and expected by others, and in this country at this time, it’s going to be a majority of constituents who are looking for a White House that does the right thing, period.
For 2008, the secret to the success of conservatives will be the bold statement of values and commitment to America, and some a record of carrying them out to the satisfaction of constituents. Rookies need not apply.
After all, it was the lack of it that cost the country Congress. We all lost when the republicans lost.
It’s time to put into the White House a team with the follow-through on good ideas they have enunciated and which have been clearly embraced by citizens. Emphasis on citizens.
Gingrich is bold and articulate, and as a former teacher, he can unwind many of the negative stereotypes of Educators and their stupid policies – you know, the absolute junk put into textbooks as an example of so-called open-mindedness and letting your brains fall out. You’ve read my position of ‘Educators’ who say how right-minded they are at home, but admit that they have a job to do at work which conflicts substantively with those values. I disapprove of this double lifestyle, and I’d like to see a turnaround. Wouldn’t you like that, too? Wouldn’t that help?
Here’s your chance. Vote for Gingrich and Rice.
When it comes to second amendment rights and liberty backed by lawful citizen force, I’m much more sure than before how only some officials and not all officials want to take your liberty by taking away the force which backs your liberties, and that Dr. Rice would fall more into the category of protecting rights rather than bluffing citizens out of them, as some have done over the decades.
Score two planks for this ticket’s platform. (Just as soon as they accept the nomination!)
Both Condi and Newt are more interested in protecting rights than in assuming powers not granted, and this is what this next election is going to be about, no doubt.
These two would be unbeatable on the platform of restoring America.
1. Rights of the Constitution are few, but they are all we need to live in liberty. Living by these restores personal dignity and happiness with less expectation of government’s being your personal butler.
2. Rights of the Constitution are Creator-given, not given by government. Government’s job is to protect rights – the few, clearly defined ones we have – and not to demagogue and make a living finding rights that aren’t there.
3. The Constitution does not empower government as much as it limits government.
If Dr. Rice and Speaker Newt run on these values, the opposition will be cooked, and for a long time.
President Gingrich and Vice-President Rice could so easily lead the next Congress into returning sovereignty and authority into the hands of citizens and removing some of those self-appointed powers not granted by the people. Incidentally, it will probably take two terms, and then Condi would be our first woman President.
That scares some people - people who don’t want freedom and others who don’t want them to have it.
But it doesn’t scare liberty enthusiasts to have freedom, because responsibility and liberty mean choice, real choice. It doesn’t scare us for every citizen to have it.
That’s what Newt and Condi are all about.
Freedom for all citizens.
Here’s your chance.
