Minutia Management and Americanism
By John A. Ross (01/09/07)
Snake oil salesmen, like get something for nothing and soak the rich liberals, have been hawking, or pedaling poison to Americans for a long time. The liberals’ poison being sold to unsuspecting Americans is a politically correct socialist wedge that is meant to alienate hard working people, regardless of income. Fracturing American society with lies and exploiting the ill informed by slanting knowledge that most folks are not interested in, or unaware of, the modern liberal snake oil salesman’s motivation is, as always, greed and power.
Information wrapped in emotional hype and slanted to get an audience to think that they must buy, or believe something is a very old trick to separate people from their money and sometimes their freedom. Knowingly lying, or slanting information, to gain some form of advantage is contrary to Americans’ deep-seated belief in fair play. Recognizing and dealing, therefore, with snake oil salesmen is an American pastime that is also a form of minutia management, and, more importantly, a character evaluation process.
The American people consciously, or otherwise, are not above pitting snake oil salesmen and most politicians against one another, as they are perceived to be synonymous. Aware the mainstream media, press, many traitorous bureaucrats, too many socialist educators and a bunch of Hollywood Nitwits embrace “liberal” politicians, most Americans support those that exhibit traditional values. Adept at recognizing weasel wording politicians and their first cousins, snake oil salesmen, Americans are occasionally tricked; however, if you want to pick a winner, identify the straight shooter.
Selling big lies to Americans was easy, when there were only three television networks and half a dozen major newspapers that, effectively, pandered the same objective, or message. With the advent of the Internet, as most people have come to realize, the liberal snake oil that was and still is being promoted is a reflection of the poison The American 5th Column is selling. Many “trusted” media luminaries (e.g. Dan Rather) and press sources (e.g. New York Times, Los Angeles Times) have been caught lying to the American people resulting in near total loss of confidence.
Looking down the road a couple of years, it is not unreasonable to assume that the American people will be ready for a new “Contract With America” that definitively identifies what we want. The democrats sold some swing voters on the idea that they will introduce a “change,” in the recent mid-term elections of 2006. The snake oil Democrats sold is some of the things that most people believe in but reality demands that hardnosed Yankee perseverance prevail. Specifically, trying to appease liberals (i.e. socialists) and enemies is a losing proposition, or double negative.
The recent myopic vision espoused by some of America’s current “leaders” is diametrically opposite of the mindset that created ”the land of the free and home of the brave.” Limiting America’s manifest destiny to our present status quo is not only alien but also plain un-American. Restricting Americans to the confines of boundaries, or trying to, led to the English being asked to leave, in 1776. Frivolous antics and juvenile games being played in our nations capital must immediately cease and the business of being the world’s only super power must be the order of the day.
