Politically Correct Posturing is not Leadership
By John A. Ross (02/01/07)
Leading aspirants trying to appear presidential are irritatingly shallow and, it would appear, out of the same mold. Regardless of political persuasion all of the current aspirants, except for Newt Gingrich, adhere to the liberal PCP, or politically correct posturing, agenda. Acting presidential and being a leader and manager are worlds apart, for those who do not know the difference. Putting reality into context, William Jefferson Clinton, for example, made decisions based on the impact his overt actions would have on approval ratings. Leaders, on the other hand, lead and manage. In this context, President Bush is a leader, despite the unmitigated hate socialists that call themselves "liberal" have for him.
Political aspirants looking for a job that aimlessly thrash >from and to alternating positions are either immature, or have very little bearing about them and need to be considered valueless opportunists. Upon analysis, a candidate’s ‘style’ equates, usually, to politically correct posturing and ‘substance’ being consistent leadership values. Vacillating politicians fit the same pathetic mold, however their motivation is usually to keep their existing jobs. Leaving the taxpayer with the option of accepting the swill major parties offer for consideration, or rejecting all of them and forcing the parties to find acceptable candidates may be the right answer.
Polls owned or managed by the mainstream media (e.g. ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC) and press (e.g. New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times) are liberal and biased against President Bush. Relying on these sources as popular voter indicators is how Bill Clinton meted out his decisions. Just as her impeached husband relied on politically correct posturing (PCP) to waffle his way through two terms in office, Hillary has already started her liberal PCP charade.
National leaders, not actors, make decisions based facts, moral and spiritual aptitudes and what is best for America, not what is best for their career, or their friends. Additionally, emotion driven issues are, more often than not, manipulative schemes to coerce voters into believing that big government socialism can make better decisions by eliminating market forces. Removing competition and relying on taxes to pay for government entitlements is the prescription for the kind of spiraling socialism that has rendered Europe an economic invalid.
Adept ‘liberals’ are as deviously opportunistic as the next politician. The new Speaker of The House, Nancy Pelosi, proved that recently when she attempted to shield Dole Corporation from the new minimum pay raise. To infer that the Clinton Team is devious is a gross injustice to them. Multiple examples can be raised, however their ability to steer controversy away from real issues is probably their best attribute. Case in point, when the Whitewater scandal broke they successfully prevented any scrutiny of the Camden Arkansas military facility transactions to be raised. As such, the nickname “Slick Willy” is well deserved.
There are about twenty months before the American people go to the polls to, literally, decide whether the U.S. and it’s neighbors will work together, rip apart, or become more socialist. Looking forward, the 2008 presidential elections will be as momentous for America as Abraham Lincoln’s re-election. Conscientious American voters will see through the ‘PCP’ crowd and find a leader.
