The American Public Fights Itself
By J. James Estrada (05/10/07)
The American Public is getting a lot of attention these days. In Democrat circles, The American Public is the driving force to end the war in Iraq. Unfortunately, some Republicans in Congress may find this version of The American Public too persistent to ignore. The American Public, in other ways, is the one being ignored. For instance, this side of The American Public wants something done about illegal immigration. So which incarnation of The American Public will be listened to? The one that demands that America Re-Public! That is, the one who insists on standing, once again, firmly planted upon the principles and ideals that made the foundation of this great Nation strong: Order, Justice and Freedom.*
Does The American Public want the war in Iraq to end? Yes, but successfully. When have Americans ever wanted to surrender? Does The American Public seek to add to its ranks from the best and brightest and the truly hard working, talented and ambitious from among the rest of the world? Yes, but legally.
That entity sketched by the media and colored by the Left to be anti-war, called, of course, The American Public, does not exist as a majority. The majority believes this: We need to prevent another attack on our soil. That means, at this time, fighting them over there before they come over here. "Over there" right now is Iraq. Five years from now it could be in Iran. Where ever "over there" is, it means not fighting them in our cities and neighborhoods. Bottom line is that wars are fought to bring peace.
On the fight to enforce immigration law, The American Public is decidedly in this camp: seal the borders! This real majority will be vindicated when another terror attack is perpetrated within the country by those here illegally. (See the story of the Six Muslim Extremists who planned to attack our soldiers at Fort Dix, New Jersey). At that point, who ever is President will be compelled and propelled into action, finally.
The American Public has rightly been demanding secure borders; however, their voice has been obscured by the media myth: that other The American Public that is dumbfounded by America defending herself. How can the two be one and the same?
