U.S. Must Recognize It Is at War with Iran

Irvine, CA-- Back in January, President Bush acknowledged that Iran had been providing key material support for attacks against American troops in Iraq. According to NATO officials, Iran has now been caught shipping heavy arms, C4 explosives and advanced roadside bombs to the Taliban for use against American and NATO forces.
"Iran's continuing support for the anti-American terrorists in Iraq and its present assistance to the Taliban are acts of war against the United States--the latest acts of war in a long series stretching back to the Iranian hostage crisis," said Dr. Yaron Brook, executive director of the Ayn Rand Institute.
"For months Iran has been fomenting terrorist activity against American troops in Iraq, providing terrorists with training, weapons and explosive devices, and is thus responsible for the maiming and deaths of hundreds of American soldiers.
"Our government has a moral obligation to respond to these vicious acts by taking decisive military action against Iran: hostile nations must not be given a blank check to murder American soldiers.
"America's inaction against Iran will encourage the regime to sponsor more attacks on Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to expand the scope of its aggression even further.
"The U.S. must stop pretending that Iran is not at war with us--and instead start fighting with all the military power the United States has at its disposal."
