Government Still Refuses to Protect US Border

As Iran proudly announces its increased nuclear enrichment - enrichment that has traditionally signaled the development of nuclear weaponry - the US government continues to refuse to build our southern border fence; even though it was required by its own Congressional legislation to do so. The funding for the Secure Border Fence Act of 2006, passed by Congress, instructed that 854 miles of double-layer fencing is to be built to protect the US' southern border. Since the border fence's funding in 2006, only 5 miles of fence have been erected.
It seems that the DHS (Department of Homeland Security), the Bush Administration and the Democrat-run Congressional open-borders crowd have found a huge loophole to both ceasing to actually build the fence and protecting the American people from terrorists of multiple persuasions. Note: These terrorist groups include Islamist terrorists and narco-terror gangs from south of the border.
The loophole has been brought to light by Grassfire.org and states: “LIMITATION ON REQUIREMENTS.--Notwithstanding subparagraph (A), nothing in this paragraph shall require the Secretary of Homeland Security to install fencing, physical barriers, roads, lighting, cameras, and sensors in a particular location along an international border of the United States, if the Secretary determines that the use or placement of such resources is not the most appropriate means to achieve and maintain operational control over the international border at such location.”
So, in other words, although the Secure Border Fence Act ostensibly mandated the building of said fence—or so We-the-People were led to believe, the fence doesn’t really have to be built if the pro-illegals contingent doesn’t want it. “Our” government has duped us, again.
We-the-People from all sides of the American political scene told our elected “leaders” that we will not accept illegals entering our country and then receiving even more benefits than legal US citizens. Our government fought us until we shut down the Congressional switchboard with our dissent and threatened to not vote for these officials if they continued their attempts to thwart the will of legal US citizens. Finally, Congress acquiesced to us—or so it seemed. However, it already had the “limitations on Requirements” trump card firmly in place. Members of Congress had already created and installed an “out-clause” to the not-so-Secure-Borders-Act that allowed them to not have to do the work of or adhere to the will of the American people. And it also appears that these funds can now be redirected to pet projects for Congressional Reps and Senators.
This is yet another example of elected officials no longer doing the jobs they were hired to do—and continuing to get away with it. If we don’t stop them, one way or another these officials will not only continue to elevate themselves to the “have-class” but, demote the rest of us to the positions of the “have-nots.” Unless we bring a halt to this latest slap in our faces, you, me and most of our friends and relatives will soon be serfs forced to work for the once-elected. Remember that the North American Union and the misnamed “Security and Prosperity Partnership” (unless one realizes said security and prosperity only applies to the soon to be very limited have-class) are already on their way toward replacing our country. In order to obtain even more power for themselves, these same elected officials will continue to seize the remaining rights from We-the-People and appropriate them for the illegal usurpers—for votes.
How can we stop this latest Congressional atrocity aimed at we the American people? Answer: Call and/or fax our Congressional Reps and Senators—once again—and demand that they amend their bogus act to include a real mandate for the border fence funding; with no out-clauses.
As always, it is up to We-the-People to affect legal means to achieve our goals. At this juncture, the corruption virus has infected all too many of those who promised to serve. I know it’s increasingly hard to keep up with elected officials who are bound and determined to destroy our Republic. But, we must. Now said service seems to be that we serve them! Isn’t it time that serving returned to its true role? I think it is.
