Bush Is As Much A Cowboy As He Is A Conservative
By Dave Gibson (12/13/07)
In the 1990's, we on the right criticized the presidency of Bill Clinton for being all style with no substance. If we are honest, we must also make the same observation of the Bush presidency. Bush is every bit the fraud that his predecessor was proven to be. Additionally, Clinton and Bush have both been protected by the liberal press because they share the same harmful agenda for the United States.
The most glaring example of a Bush lie peddled to the American people by the press is the myth of the 'Bush family ranch' in Crawford, Texas as well as the role that Bush plays as a real Texas rancher. Despite the inferences, Bush's Crawford spread is not a working ranch, nor has it been in the Bush family for generations. Preparing for a White House run, Bush purchased the property in 1999 for $1.3 million.
Unlike President Reagan who also owned a ranch and was an accomplished rider, Bush has never ridden a horse on his ranch. Instead, Bush uses the property to ride his bicycle, go jogging, and to clear brush for the news cameras.
Despite his cowboy boots, Bush does not ride and is reportedly terrified of horses. In fact, while on his first visit to Mexico as president, Bush refused to go riding with his North American Union co-conspirator Vicente Fox. The former Mexican president wrote about the embarrassing episode in his autobiography "Revolution of Hope." Fox remembers Bush as "backing away" from one of his big palomino horses and repeatedly denying his requests to accompany him on his rides. Fox also went on to describe Bush as nothing more than a "windshield cowboy--who prefers to drive."
I don't know about you, but there is something disconcerting to me about a man who wears cowboy boots but who has never ridden a horse in his life. Apparently, Bush's cowboy boots just like his self-reported conservative beliefs are merely props with no real purpose.
There is a much accepted notion that the press has an adversarial role with the Bush administration. However, that is nothing more than another lie perpetuated by both entities. If the press truly believed our current president to be an actual hard-line conservative, they would certainly report the facts that I have gathered here. If they wanted to discredit and humiliate Bush they would show pictures of him in his cheerleader outfit during the time he attended high school at exclusive Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. They instead choose to show President Bush as he wants to be seen in his cowboy boots and hat...the horse-less cowboy.
The real story here is not that Bush is a phony, it is the fact that the news media is complicit in his fraud and presents that fake image to the American public as fact. Contrary to their shallow protests, there is no reason for the liberal press to be in conflict with the Bush administration. They are both working towards the same goals for this country such as open borders, the complete loss of U.S. sovereignty, an expansion of the welfare state, amnesty for illegal aliens, and the misuse and ultimate destruction of the U.S. military.
If you think that I am off-base...I would ask you to remember the images of CBS anchor Bob Scheiffer joining then White House Press Secretary Tony Snow at a 'Battle of the Bands' competition or the rather sickening performance offered by Karl Rove and NBC reporter David Gregory hamming it up on stage at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner. Can you imagine Bob Woodward appearing in a skit with H.R. Haldeman during the Nixon administration?
The image of Bush as a cowboy as well as the supposedly conflicting role between his administration and the press are yet two more frauds which have been sold to the American people. However, just like the cheap and even dangerous Chinese-made goods which Bush allows to be dumped on our shores, we do not have to buy them!
