A New Year's Wish List For America
By Dave Gibson (01/03/08)
With the start of every new year, many of us make lists of hopes and wishes we would like to see accomplished for ourselves and our families. I have made the following list of what I would like to see in the president we choose this year:
-A president who actually understands and respects the U.S. Constitution.
-A president who places U.S. sovereignty ahead of any and all policies put forth by the United Nations.
-A president who will not misuse nor harm our military by committing U.S. troops to foreign wars in which the U.S. is not directly threatened.
-A president who will begin to dismantle the over-reaching behemoth which is our federal government (close the Dept. of Education, Dept. of Energy, etc.).
-A president who will put an end to welfare programs and stop giving money and free benefits to able bodied people who simply choose not to work.
-A president who will cut off foreign aid.
-A president who will actually defend this nation's border with Mexico and direct Congress to draft a sensible immigration policy.
-A president who will bring an end to the proposed North American Union, and fully expose the to the American people the illegal and disastrous agreement entered into by President Bush.
-A president who will stop allowing China to dump their slave-made and dangerous products on our shores by invoking much higher tariffs and a strict inspection policy. Thus forcing greedy American companies to re-open factories in this country.
-A president who will veto all spending bills which contain non-Constitutional expenses.
-A president who will not direct nor allow the Federal reserve to continue printing money out of thin air and stop the devaluation of our dollar.
After three globalist administrations; the implementation of NAFTA, CAFTA, and the beginning of the SPP; and spending this nation into financial ruin...We desperately need a president who is a strict Constitutionalist and who will place the protection of Americans before all else.
We simply cannot survive four more years of another business-as-usual, one world government socialist leader. Unfortunately, all of the so-called frontrunners in both the Democrat and Republican Parties fall into that category. The Democrats do not even attempt to hide their socialist aims while the Republicans hide their leftist tendencies behind their supposed religious beliefs.
Ron Paul is the only candidate who not only speaks to all of the conservative ideals we need in a president, but he has a long Congressional voting record to prove it.
It is beyond the understanding of this humble columnist how anyone who cares about the future of this country, or who considers himself a conservative could support anyone other than Ron Paul. To cast a vote for any of the other Republican or Democrat look-alikes would be truly throwing your vote away.
In 2008, may we be wise enough to never again elect a liberal who pretends to be a conservative, and may we be brave enough to rely only on ourselves instead of government.
