'Does the 'Obama Ignorance Excuse' Pass the Smell Test?'

It is extremely hard - if not impossible - to believe that any Republican presidential candidates would get away with having been 20-year members of a racist, anti-Semitic, anti-USA and race-baiting church without the mainstream media destroying them. But, Barack Obama is a Democrat and the first black candidate for president of the United States. Therefore, telling the truth about him, if said truth might damage him, is verboten - or must at least be minimized.
Since the Conservative press first exposed Senior Pastor Jeremiah Wright’s hate-speech sermons from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ - Obama’s church for over 20 years - and YouTube began running the videos of said sermons (also available for sale), Obama has tried several methods of extricating himself from his association with the pastor:
· First, Obama claimed that he was not familiar with Pastor Wright’s hate sermons. Note: In order to buy this excuse from a man who has called Wright his “spiritual adviser”, requested that Wright marry him and his wife Michelle and allowed Wright to baptize his children one has to suspend belief in all things related to reality and everything that even smack of sanity.
· Second - as his first excuse didn’t play well with the public - Obama used the old fallback defense that Wright’s comments were “taken out of context.” In fact, Wright’s quoted hate speech sermons are intact and include vicious statements which include the USA deserved 9/11, the US created the AIDS crisis to “kill people of color,” the US supported apartheid in South Africa and “rich whites” run the United States of America. This is the Pastor Jeremiah Wright who claims that Jesus was a “poor black boy” - not a Jew - and the same Wright who tells his congregation to sing “God Damn America” not “God Bless America.” And these are but a few of his extremely mild statements. This is the same Pastor Wright who traveled to Libya with black-separatist Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan to meet with terrorist leader Muammar al-Gaddafi. This is also Barack Obama’s mentor.
· Third, as neither his first or second attempts met with much success - in hopeful presidential manner - Obama scheduled what he called “a major speech on race” for Tuesday. A speech that (as has become his trademark) was eloquently written and delivered. But, it was a speech in which Senator Obama both condemned Wright’s comments and defended him. In other words, Obama remains on both sides of a self-built fence. In fact, Obama was a loyal follower of Pastor Wright for over 20 years - and apparently remains so.
However, as he now finds his political career in potential jeopardy, he was forced to speak about his spiritual adviser. So, taking Geraldine Ferraro down another peg, Senator Obama deftly made an allusion to Wright’s comments and hers - although no real or genuine comparison exists. With one statement, Obama says that he “condemns” Pastor Wright’s statement. With another, he tells us he will not “disown this member of his family” and that Wright “contains within him the contradictions of the good and the bad” of the community. Then, although Wright has multiple DVDs of his “hate sermons” available, Obama said his pastor was an “occasional critic” - minimizing further Wright’s hate-filled sermons and the frequency with which they were delivered. Then, in an apparent major change to his campaign, Obama switched from his prior strategy of not playing the race card - and performing above the fray - to one based on race and racism.
Obama began his Philadelphia speech by saying that the USA is “stained by this nation’s original sin of slavery.” From this beginning the dye was cast and the 30-minute march to justification for Wright’s comments had begun. Obama then compared Wright’s hate-speech sermons to disagreeing with one’s Minister or Rabbi.
No, Senator, there is NO comparison to disagreeing with some point of Scripture and Pastor Wright’s patent and blatantly stated hatred of this country and white people, in general. Obama then said “we haven’t truly addressed racism” and proceeded to further justify Wright’s incendiary rhetoric.
This is a dangerous liberal who, as he’s accused Hillary Clinton, now appears to have joined the group of political candidates who will do anything and everything to win - including attempts to instill even more guilt into what “Pastor” Wright calls “honkeys.” Obama is now unabashedly - although more expressively than most - saying “if you don’t vote for me, you’re a racist.”
And so it sadly goes. Another liberal works the crowds, another Democrat candidate resurrects the ugly visage of racism and another leftist blames America first. Welcome the real Obama. There is no “change” here - just more of the same old socialistic banter. It just sometimes comes with a bit more attractive packaging.
