3rd Grader Suspended for Sniffing Magic Marker
By J. Grant Swank Jr. (04/07/08)
Another idiocy of our times in America.
Eathen Harris, 8, was sniffing a magic marker on his shirt. Officialdom came down on his young head. They accused him of trying to get high on magic marker fumes.
This is in the Harris Park School, Westminster, Colorado where Principal Christopher Benisch holds forth. The teacher reported the alleged crime. The principal handed the alleged criminal a three-day suspension slip.
James Harris, father to the alleged criminal is out of his tree at this moment. The entire nation should back him up.
Fire the teacher. Fire the principal. Write both at address below.
“’[The school] automatically assumed that he was huffing a marker,’ James Harris told MyFOXColorado. ‘He is in third grade, he's 8-years-old. And I think that's a ridiculous assumption.’”
Not so according to the head honchos.
Principal and teacher band together to report to criminal investigator unnamed that the boy was trying to get high. Now comes mercy. The two reduced the suspension from three days to one day. Isn’t that precious?
Principal reports to media that he considers the markers a real threat to school decorum and safety of pupils. It is a “serious safety issue. . .”
The American dollar downs. The American gas ups. The Muslims try to slit our throats. And these two idiots hand a three-day suspension mandate to an 8-year-old.
Anyone planning a trip to the moon?
