Polls Are Kinda Correct: Americans Think The County Is Moving In The Wrong Direction
By Malcolm Hedges (04/13/08)
However, since "Is the Country Moving In The Wrong Direction?'' is a loaded question, lettuce attempt an analysis.
What does the approximate 80% of "Yes" answers mean?
We can estimate based on the last decade of election results that ruffly 50% of Americans are not happy with the ongoing Progressive Socialist agenda, so they may well vote against the current state of the country for a variety of personal conceptions.
So how about that other elusive 30%?
Some ~10 to 15% of Americans are Fanatic Progressive Socialists, so I would suggest they would would say Yes because the US has not moved far enough to the Left to make them happy.
So we now have some ~15 to 20% of the answers unaccounted for.
This portion could well be folks with specific apolitical gripes, supporters of Illegal Immigration, splinter political factions and chronic complainers.
Lettuce not forget the ~20% that said "No".
Perhaps that group includes political and social mush minds, people with no interest in anything but existing from day to day, Moderate Socialists that are happy with things as they are and perhaps people that are happy with "Big Brother" in general.
Whatever the reason, the statistics and implications from such a loaded question are essentially useless. Most everybody will have some reason to answer "Yes".
Yes, Americans want "change", but nobody has really bothered to look for the real reason. Basically, because they don't want to know the truth.
