Once Upon A Time I Was Young

I was born and raised in the "Peoples Republic Of Oregon". Obviously at that time I had no clue, perhaps some 65 years ago it was not yet the "Peoples Republic Of Oregon".
Certainly the status has now become pretty obvious.
To be kind, I would suggest the Socialist venue is mostly propagated by the "Portland Metropolitan" area and some other local communities invaded and contaminated by California and Washington state refugees.
Probably some 90% of Oregonians do not knowingly embrace Socialism, but some X% have probably been indoctrinated by the MSM and have no idea that it has happened.
If I remember correctly, I leaned toward being a Democrat in my High School years, in the time in the range of 1956 the Democratic Party kinda embraced Americanism and all my info came from the TV.
I ain't been an Oregon resident since around 1964 (Army,etc,etc), I visit when I can afford to pay for the gasoline but that's about it. (About $440 just for gas to get there and return)
It seems some serious migration from California to Oregon happened after ~1973 or so, all I know is that my home town suddenly changed in character and content for no particular reason.
I have went to visit some several times and was surprised at the total change of the city where I was raised! I was quietly informed that immigrants from California had invaded and subverted the basic business model.
My sites use software from efforts based in Oregon and very often subtle issues reflect a Progressive mentality (i.e. mediocre is the norm)...
It is a shame that Oregon has evolved to become the "Peoples Republic Of Oregon", I really considered Oregon a nice place until the truth was exposed.
