Abortion Bigotry

No issue ever has, nor ever will divide our nation in the manner abortion does. Like any other highly controversial topic, abortion stirs deeply held beliefs and emotions. But the emotions stirred by abortion exceed by several degrees those raised by gun control or the death penalty, or any other political hot button issue.
The reason for the highly emotional state surrounding the issue of abortion is simple to find. The whole debate revolves around human life. When does a human life begin? That is the whole question. If each human life does actually start at conception then certainly abortion kills a completely innocent baby. If, however, the human life somehow starts later then, abortion is OK until such time as that life does begin.
There is of course much disagreement within the pro-choice side as to exactly when abortion is wrong. There are those who swear they think abortion is wrong as soon as the baby is viable, that is when it can survive outside the mother’s body. This is a puzzling argument to pro-lifers like me. On one hand these people are admitting that, yes, there is a baby, and yes it is alive. Yet they are also advocating the killing of this same unborn child if at needs it’s mother to survive.
In short, this ideology seems to think it OK to silence the tiny heart, which beats in the unborn child, as long as the child would die outside the mother. Well the logical question is what of abandoned babies? Is it also all right to allow them to die? Surely consistency demands those who hold this view to answer yes to this question.
The baby dies via abortion because it can not live outside the mother or the baby dies because it can not survive without the care of another person. Where is the difference? In either situation the child will die. In both scenarios the child has no chance of survival. Yet these pro-choice advocates would weep at the news of a baby dumped in a trashcan and left to die, and fully approve of a doctor killing this same child a month earlier via abortion. Does their inanity know no bounds?
There is another group of pro-choicers, which also tend to cause great puzzlement among pro-lifers. This group supports abortion in the first trimester only. Why? What magical event occurs after the third month? Is the baby not human until the end of the first trimester? Is the baby not alive until then? The answer to both of those questions is no. The baby is alive and is indeed human. So again the question raises itself to these people. Why?
Surely medical science shows the baby has a beating heart and brain waves well within the first three months. It develops other organs, fingers, toes, and other body parts before the second trimester. So where is the justification for aborting this tiny person?
There is none of course. The baby is no more human and no more alive in the second trimester than in the first. Fetal images clearly show how alive the baby is in the first three months. So again the question of why must be asked.
Yet another group of pro-choicers may be the most difficult to understand. This group knows there is a baby, they know what abortion does, and they do not like abortion. Yet they still support a woman’s right to one. What madness is this?
When pressed these folks will answer it must remain the woman’s decision, she must retain autonomy over her own body. Really? Well do they forget the other body involved? There is a baby, with it’s own blood type and DNA, which is killed by abortion.
What of this person’s choice? What of their control of their body?
This group might be accused of simple bigotry. They believe one group of humans, pregnant women, are more valuable and should hold the power to eliminate another group of humans, the unborn, as they see fit. View here is no group of Klansmen ever held a more bigoted ideal than these people.
Finally there is the most disturbing group in the pro-choice camp. those who support abortion at any time during the pregnancy. Even supporting the grisly infanticide that is partial birth abortion.
This group also fully supports abortion, and even celebrates it for what it is. The destruction of a child. These twisted miscreants will refer to the unborn as a parasite, or compare it to a Sexually Transmitted Disease or even a cancerous tumor. They will often refer to the child as an invader in the mother’s body. An invader which should be expunged at the mother’s choosing. These people do not mince words in the least either.
As one said to me in a debate forum, “ I know abortion kills a baby, that is why I like abortion.” Unlike the other groups this one can at least be given credit for honesty. Instead of lying about abortion and what it is they will admit to the truth.
Yes there is disagreement among the different pro-choice groups, but they all share one ideal. They want the killing to continue.
