"...an utterly corrupt new religion called environmentalism..."
If the history of this planet's climate over millions of years is any guide, we are about to enter a new ice age.
CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper indicated in a 1993 interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he wants to see the United States become a Muslim country.
Duty . . . Honor . . . Country
By William Bailey (05/28/08)
The time: May, 1962 The place: the United States Military Academy-West Point The event: the Farewell Address to the Corps of Cadets by General Douglas MacArthur
While the speech was meant for and addressed to the Corps of Cadets and military persons in general, I believe that a case can be built for these three hallowed words to be addressed to our politicians and those who serve us.
Let’s see what Merriam-Webster has to say about the two key words . . . duty and honor.
“duty-obligatory tasks, conduct, service or functions that arise from one’s position.”
“honor-one whose worth brings respect or fame.”
Elected officials, at whatever level, have a duty to honor those whom they serve. At the Federal level, it means that they function within the scope of the Constitution of the United States. And, the fact is that, right now, they are not doing so. And, this applies to all three branches of government. But, certainly to the Legislative branch.
General MacArthur put it this way: “Duty, Honor, Country-those three hallowed words dictate what you want to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying point to build courage when courage seems to fail, to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith, to create hope when hope becomes forlorn”
He continued: “The unbelievers will say they are bout words, a slogan, but a flamboyant phrase. Every pedant, every demagogue, every cynic, every hypocrite, every troublemaker, and I am sorry to say, some others of an entirely different character, will try to downgrade them even to the extent of mockery and ridicule.”
As he closed his remarks, he stated, “Let civilian voices argue the merits or demerits of our processes of government. Whether our strength is being sapped by deficit financing indulged in too long, by federal paternalism grown too mighty, by power groups grown too arrogant, by politics grown too corrupt, by crime grown too rampant, by morals grown too low, by taxes grown too high, by extremists grown too violent; whether our personal liberties are as firm and complete as they should be.”
Did General MacArthur have a telescope into the future ? Here we are almost fifty years later and what do we have ? “Our strength is being sapped by deficit financing indulged in too long, by federal paternalism grown too mighty, by power groups grown too arrogant, by politics grown too corrupt, by crime grown too rampant, by morals grown too low, by taxes grown too high, by extremists grown too violent; whether our personal liberties are as firm and complete as they should be.”
As we approach another election, is it unreasonable to expect our elected leaders to subscribe to duty and honor ? Is it unreasonable to expect our Federal officials to live within the boundaries of the Constitution of the United States ? They each take an oath to do so and then seem to promptly forget it. The third word of this trilogy is Country . . . not personal agenda . . . not special interest groups . . . not amassing personal power . . . it’s to honor this Country.
Daniel Webster put it this way, “We may be tossed upon an ocean where we see no land--nor perhaps, the sun or stars. But there is a chart and a compass for us to study, to consult, and to obey. That chart is the Constitution.”
And, as we speak of and think about the word “honor”, we cannot . . . we MUST not forget the closing words of that document that was the birth of this experiment called the United States . . . remember them ? “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
In the words of Captain Mike Spann, United States Marine Corps,(the first American to die on the field of battle in the War on Islamic Terror), “I believe in the meaning of honor and integrity. I am an action person who feels personally responsible for making any changes in this world that are in my power . . . because if I don’t’, no one else will.”
If “We the People” want changes . . . it’s going to be up to us to make those changes. A lot is being said about “change” right now. Change can be good or bad. Change for “change’s sake” doesn’t seem to always work out to be good. I fear the change being referred to is not the right type of change. It’s not the change we really want or expect from our government. Two recent Rasmussen polls seem to bear this out. The first points out that only 13% of Americans give Congress good or excellent ratings. The second points out that 62% would prefer fewer government services with lower taxes. If this is what we want . . . we’re going to have to shoulder the responsibility of making it happen. Combined, these two polls would seem to indicate that the majority of Americans want the change to be back to constitutional government. Also, these polls also would seem to confirm that the majority of our elected officials are off on their own agenda(s) without regard for what the majority of their constituents want. The only way to correct this situation is to get back on the road that got us here, a Constitutional Republic . . . and get off the road called social democracy.
So . . . here’s a message for those who seek my vote in November . . . you will get it ONLY if you can convince me that you are ready to take a leadership role in returning to Constitutional government. Otherwise, you can forget this American’s vote.
In closing, the words of Sir Walter Scott (Scottish poet and novelist) seem to be appropriate to the theme of “Duty, Honor, Country”
“Breathes there the man, with soul so dead,
Who never to himself has said,
‘This is my own, my native land !”
Whose heart hath ne’er within him burn’d,
As home his footsteps he hath turn’d,
From wandering on a foreign strand !
If such there breathe, go, mark him well;
For him no minstrel raptures swell;
High though his titles, proud his name,
Boundless his wealth as wish can claim;
Despite those titles, power and pelf,
The wretch, centered all in self,
Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust, from whence he sprung.
Unwept, unhounour’d, and unsung.”
“This is my own . . . my native land” and I am angry with those who would change it to something different than that intended by our Founding Fathers. I fear for the future of this Nation . . . if “We the People” don’t step up and take our responsibility to change it so that it is, once again, a beacon of freedom to the rest of the world.

The United States Is Being Overthrown By Our Politicians - "A silent but all-reaching coup is taking place within the
United States. This coup is not being directed by bomb-laden Muslim terrorists, nor will it ever be covered by the mainstream media.
The seditious act is being carried out by our very own elected officials, with President Bush leading the insurrection."
"The FDA has conveniently used the excuse of looking out for consumer safety to increase their perverse regulatory power,
undermine free speech, disrupt commerce, and generally get in the way of helping people improve their health. The "half-truth" of
the safety issue is used as a ploy to reduce the rights of Americans, one freedom at a time. Once again, the FDA is seeking more
police power to intimidate supplement companies. This is one step in an overall FDA master plan to eliminate therapeutic nutritional
supplements from the free market. Those who lose are the American public." The FDA - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
