Liberals Will Never Get It!
By Doug Hagin (01/16/03)
It seems no matter what evidence exists against Saddam Hussein, or how much is uncovered against the Butcher of Baghdad, that Liberals will just not support a military action against him.
It appears no matter how much of a case the Bush administration can build against Saddam, Liberals still will protest against any action to remove him from power.
It would also seem Liberals will never accept the cold hard fact of Saddam’s evil nature. No matter how much we uncover his ties to terror Liberals will still not get it. They are totally unable to see the benefit of eliminating the threat he poses before he strikes us.
Forget about talking about weapons of mass destruction, Liberals do not buy it. Forget the intelligence of being pro-active in our war on terror. Again no amount of evidence George Bush can produce will sway their opinions.
Seemingly the Bush administration could produce videotape of Saddam himself making chemical weapons and Liberals would still not get it. Saddam could even host a press conference announcing his intentions to attack the United States and the Liberals intent on keeping their heads in the sands would not see the light.
No matter what they will make their outrageous claims about Bush just wanting to avenge his fathers name. No matter what they will talk about United States imperialism. No matter what they will whine about blood for oil.
Yes my friends, no matter what evidence is found these folks will just not grasp the truth. They just will never seemingly support war under a Republican President no matter how worthy the cause.
It would appear partisan politics will just not allow Liberals to throw their support behind our imminent strikes against Saddam and Hussein. Because like some religious fanatic, a radical Liberal can not see any good in anyone outside their faith. And to Liberals their left-wing ideology IS their religion.
So maybe we should just stop trying to argue with them about this? Maybe we should just forget about ever getting them to support military action against Iraq? O maybe there is a way to garner their support after all?
What could that be you ask? What could possibly make them see the necessity of Saddam’s removal? I am glad you asked me this. Because I think there is indeed a way.
All we have to do is tell a white lie about our aims. We tell them the U.N. inspectors have found not a smoking gun but handguns in Saddam’s possession. Yes you heard me correctly my friends. We just have to realize the grave threat which handguns present in the deluded minds of radical Liberals.
Tell them we have found loaded pistols lying around Saddam’s palaces and they will soon be on board. In no time they will be burning Saddam in effigy and chanting for a full scale war.
We know how much Liberals hate guns. We understand how big a threat they think guns present. Sarah Brady, Charles Schummer and their minions see guns as the ultimate evil in the world, just edging SUV’s and tobacco in their minds.
So if we tell them Saddam has an SUV with a NRA sticker on the bumper and a pack of smokes on the dash they will be ready to remove him from power. They will be running around like the loonies they are screaming about removing Saddam to save the children.
They will be calling their trial lawyers seeking anti-smoking suits against Saddam. They will be marching against the evil of Saddam and his gas guzzling SUV. Even Arianna Huffington might get on board if we tell her Saddam drives an Explorer.
How easy this is. Makes you scratch your head and wonder why the Bush team has not thought of this yet doesn’t it? This could be a new trend in fact. All Conservatives will have to do is tell Liberals they are really targeting handguns, cigarettes and SUV’s in future military campaigns and they will march in place with us.
Sure, I know it might seem a tad, shall we say, dishonest. It might seem unethical as well. But think of the benefits. Never again hearing Liberals blabber about evil American imperialism, or blood for oil, our diverting attention away from economic problems.
Never hearing all that inanity would be worth any guilt we might incur in our new strategy. I think it just might be a worthwhile exchange.
Now if I could just think of such a similar strategy to get Tia Carrere to call me.
