If the history of this planet's climate over millions of years is any guide, we are about to enter a new ice age.

California Department of Transportation Discriminates Against Minutemen Group
By Dave Gibson (06/25/08)
The California Department of Transportation recently rejected an Adopt-A-Highway application from the San Diego Minutemen. The border enforcement advocacy group applied to clean a section of Interstate 5. The move is not the first run-in, the San Diego chapter of the Minutemen have had with Caltrans.
In January, Caltrans decided to terminate an agreement with the Minutemen who had adopted a stretch of highway, close to the San Clemente Border Patrol station. Many pro-illegal immigration groups began complaining after seeing the Adopt-A-Highway sign adorned with the Minutemen’s name.
On January 24, 2008, California State Senator Joe Coto and Assemblyman Gil Cedillo wrote a letter to the director of the California Department of Transportation Will Kempton, on behalf of the California Latino Legislative Caucus. The two lawmakers railed against the Minutemen and implored Caltrans “to permanently ban this organization from ever participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program.”
In the letter, Coto and Cedillo made the outrageous claim that the Minutemen have “for many years fostered violence and discrimination against Latinos.” Then these two took it a step farther and claimed the existence of studies which “have revealed a nexus between the Minutemen and the increase in hate crimes in areas such as San Diego.”
On January 28, Caltrans made the decision to revoke the Adopt-A-Highway permit held by the San Diego Minutemen. The Minutemen have filed a federal lawsuit against Caltrans which is still pending.
The following information is provided on Caltrans’ website and describes “Who can participate” in the adopt-a-highway program:
“Individuals, organizations, businesses, and city, county, state, and federal agencies can adopt sections of State highway roadside. Participants may perform the work themselves or hire a service contractor to perform the work on their behalf.
“Subject to Caltrans approval, minors aged 16 and older, may participate provided that they are adequately supervised.”
“Entities that advocate violence, violation of the law, or discrimination based upon race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, physical handicap, medical condition, marital status, age, sex, or sexual orientation may not participate in the Adopt-A-Highway Program.”
I emailed Caltrans spokesman Steve Saville with the following question: “I would like to know why Caltrans has denied the application of the San Diego Minutemen? Also why did your agency take the Minutemen's stretch of highway from them earlier this year?
Initially, Mr. Saville responded by saying he could not answer my question until I provided him with an “example” of my column! I quickly informed Mr. Saville that I have never made such an accommodation for any government spokesman, and that I would not start with him.
Mr. Saville eventually responded with the following explanation:
“I can gather from the way you phrased your questions that you have a
definite direction in which you would like to take this opinion piece so my
answers will be brief, to the extent that I can provide details.”
“I believe the relocation of the San Diego Minutemen to another
Adopt-A-Highway site along State Route 52 has been well documented in the
news, and the Department has no further comment on the situation due to
pending litigation between the group and the state.”
“In regards to the denied application, the San Diego Minutemen had applied
for a stretch of Interstate 5 that was previously vacant, but filled before
their application was accepted. It was filled by another group that was
displaced from its former adopted site due to highway construction. This
can be common practice in an area where so much regional highway
construction is taking place, such as along State Route 905, Interstate 5,
I-805 and I-15.”
“The other issue of "politics" seems more like a personal opinion as opposed
to a question.”
If you have any questions regarding the Adopt-A-Highway Program on a
statewide basis, I can put you in touch with the folks at our offices in
Sacramento.
His response was as confusing as it was defensive…What is Saville hiding?
Apparently, Caltrans has decided to abandon their own acceptance policy and cave to pressure from ethnocentric groups such as the California Legislative Caucus.
Of course, this is not the first time that those in power have chosen to side with those who break our laws and attempt to cast doubt upon the motives of the Minutemen.
In 2005, President Bush called the Minutemen, who are now patrolling the U.S.-Mexican border "vigilantes." I suppose that Bush believes that anyone who wishes to help enforce our laws and maintain U.S. sovereignty is a vigilante. If our president had not abdicated his responsibility in this matter, the Minuteman Project would not exist. However, he did and they are doing a great job!
Despite the erroneous propaganda perpetuated by the mainstream media, the ACLU, the Mexican government, and even our own president, the Minutemen are not a group of wild-eyed racists with bloodlust in their hearts. They are retired police officers, former military men, laborers, businessmen, moms, and dads, they are black, white, young and old; in short they are a cross section of America. The only difference between these Americans and most of us, is the fact that they are willing to sacrifice their time and are even willing to put themselves in harm's way for their patriotism and respect fro the rule of law. They like most of us, are fed up with our government's lack of interest in enforcing our borders.
Much has been made of the fact that many of the Minutemen volunteers carry firearms. They do not chase down illegal aliens with guns drawn. The volunteers who are carrying weapons, do so for self-defense purposes only. They do not apprehend suspects. They are simply operating as the eyes and ears of the incredibly under-staffed U.S. Border Patrol. The area along the Arizona border with Mexico for instance, has become a very violent sector, filled with Latin American drug smugglers, where our Border Patrol officers often come under sniper fire. Perhaps, we should remind the press as well as the President that we as U.S. citizens, still have the right to bear arms.
Unlike the federal government, the Minutemen have taken on the responsibility of spotting and reporting anyone seen, illegally crossing the border. Period.
It is a sad commentary indeed when law abiding American citizens are assailed and discriminated against by the very government which is sworn to protect them. We are now living in a time when foreign nationals have more influence over our government officials than we do.

The United States Is Being Overthrown By Our Politicians - "A silent but all-reaching coup is taking place within the
United States. This coup is not being directed by bomb-laden Muslim terrorists, nor will it ever be covered by the mainstream media.
The seditious act is being carried out by our very own elected officials, with President Bush leading the insurrection."
"The FDA has conveniently used the excuse of looking out for consumer safety to increase their perverse regulatory power,
undermine free speech, disrupt commerce, and generally get in the way of helping people improve their health. The "half-truth" of
the safety issue is used as a ploy to reduce the rights of Americans, one freedom at a time. Once again, the FDA is seeking more
police power to intimidate supplement companies. This is one step in an overall FDA master plan to eliminate therapeutic nutritional
supplements from the free market. Those who lose are the American public." The FDA - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
