A Nice Lady Died Yesterday

Thelma, age 84, was my mother-in-law.
She was in a nursing home in Phoenix in the alzheimer's ward.
I only knew her for some 11 years. When I first met her, she was pleasant sharp and no indication of being senile or pending alzheimer's. About 5 years ago her mental condition began to deteriorate and eventually should could no longer be trusted without 24 hour care.
When she was 13 she contracted polio, as a result she was paralyzed the rest of her life. In 1967, Thelma suffered a back problem and had major surgery, doctors said she would never walk again.
She didn't listen to the doctors and walked until the last few months when she needed a wheel chair.
Thelma had 6 children who are spread all over the US. She worked as a bookkeeper, factory assembler and retail store clerk, while baring the 6 children and raising them.
Yesterday, she went to take a nap and never woke up.
