Politically Responsible Americans
By John A. Ross (06/30/08)
Considering the magnitude of slanted information being heaped on the American voter these days, some confidence and reassurance needs to be added to help get them above the smoke and mirrors. For the uninitiated, the term “slant” was coined just prior to WWII in lieu of using the German word propaganda, to avoid the appearance of disseminating “propaganda.” Appropriately, Americans have also, more often than not, demonstrated that they will dismiss trite, or shallow, and ill-advised national political candidates that advocate mystical as against logical goals and objectives.
The study of history, purportedly, is pursued “to avoid repeating it.” Along this line of thinking, most Americans have been taught, or have intuitively come to realize that “if you can keep people ignorant…you can control them.” Despite the concerted “dumbing-down” of most of our youngsters by liberal academia’s best efforts logic minded, as against air-headed emotion driven, or herded Americans are politically reasonable, politically responsible and politically moderate. In this context, conservatively, at least 86% of all Americans, despite political affiliation, profess to believe in God and consider themselves to be politically moderate.
Recent history has shown, however, that America’s voters can be misled, or snookered, by pious and eloquent, or slick, orators like, respectively, Jimmy Carter and Bill “Slick-Willy” Clinton. Using a little imagination, placing the two of them in a paper bag and vigorously shaking the two dismal examples of American voter manipulation it is not inconceivable that the likes of Barack H. Obama would appear. Having survived the near disastrous legacies Carter and Clinton foisted upon our country, logical, as against emotion driven herded sheep, Americans need to see through Barack’s smoke and mirror connivance.
Management of complex strategic national and international issues that effect America like energy, national defense, taxes, trade and nuclear proliferation require responsible mature logic. Approaching these and other critical matters from a position of “political-correctness,” as Carter and Clinton did, will repeat the disastrous national and international consequences they subjected America to. Mixing current euphemisms, in this case more slant or spin, the election of Barack H. Obama would fulfill Jimmy Carter’s second term, assuming America survived.
Missing from the so-called national debate is the national and international “shake-downs” that will be orchestrated by Obama’s Chicago cohorts and Al Sharpton’s “politically-correct” extortions. Using the Clinton administration’s propensity to use FBI files to strong-arm adversaries, squirrel away White House “travel-gate” funds, accept donations from Chinese connected to the PRC and then send Loral employees to China to correct their missile design problems would merely be scratching the surface.
Generally, Americans do not consistently act like herded sheep responding to prods from quasi-leaders. Repetitive human activity that produces the same result is, however, one of the definitions of insanity. Allowing oneself and country to be manipulated through political-correctness, emotional verbal eloquence and a romantic need for “change” is a patent formula for national and international disaster, in these very dangerous times… Wake up America, we are being bamboozled again.
