The Push to End Truth
By Rob Hood (07/12/08)
Truth. What is truth and who decides truth? What is absolute truth and does absolute truth exist? ABSOLUTELY! Modern day America has adopted secular liberal ideas that dismiss truth because is may be offensive or "judgmental" of others. Liberalism is decaying America's foundation and harming the church and God's word, the Holy Bible. This brings us to our subject at hand.
NewsMax reported on July 10 about another effort to diminish truth and replace it with falsehoods and deceit. This report talks about a gay man from Michigan by the name of Bradley LaShawn Fowler who is suing two Christian book publishers for $70 million. He claims that he suffers from emotional distress and mental instability received by 20 years from versions of the Bible that refer to homosexuality as sin.
This, of course is just another cheap lawyer tactic to obtain personal goals of sabotage against those who offer a traditional view of the world in which we live. As he claims emotional distress and instability, most people call that a conscience. In other words, perhaps he feels guilty and instead of changing lifestyles, he just sues someone in hope that he will get better instead of dealing with the guilt head on. Suing someone changes nothing in regards to the truth.
Second of all, what version of the Bible does not state such sins? I can't think of one. This whole charade is just an attempt to ban "hate speech" from the Bible as it is referred to in these twisted times that we live.
Mr. Fowler claims that the two publishers, Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, deliberately made changes to 1 Corinthians 6:9. The fact of the matter is that there are numerous versions of the Bible being published and most have someone's commentary involved within it's contents, but changing a verse deliberately has never been done by these publishers. These verses, liked or not, are legitimate verses that have not been altered since their first penning hundreds of years ago. There are different translations and versions, but the verses contain the same underlying meaning and purpose. The Bible is not hate speech as some on the far left call it. Sin is sin. Murder, stealing, sexual sin (heterosexual and homosexual both)etc. are all considered equal sin and all are forgivable. They do not carry an eternal burden if forgiven and if one feels guilty about any of them, perhaps the Holy Spirit is speaking to them. Of course we feel guilt. That's the human conscience speaking. God intended it that way. Suing someone for our own mistakes is dangerous to society because it emboldens radical change that is negative and can only lead to destruction. Remember the 1960s? What a mess that turned out to be. A few people getting together for "peace" emboldened a movement that turned anti-American and quite dangerous, and in some cases violent. So much for peace eh? We still feel the ill effects of this movement to this day.
The judge in the case has not completely heard all of this argument but did state a disturbing and dangerous statement that could doom religious liberty and freedom which is the intent of the lawsuit in the first place if the truth be known. The quote is that the case "has some very genuine concerns about the nature and efficacy of [Fowler's] claim".
The judge is wrong. This is not a legitimate case. It's a ruse to get parts of the Bible banned just like Canada has been trying to do and just like most far left liberals want. I do however, see a major setback on the part of the militant gay activists who boldly sponsor these attacks. The problem is quite simple. Most Christians may be appalled at this attack on scripture, but I predict there will be few preachers who condemn the attack and even fewer church members that speak out on it. However, I wonder what Mr. Fowler's plan is for the Koran? It also speaks negatively of homosexuality. Is the Koran next? Will homosexual militants attack Islam next? Do they dare have the courage to attack Islam in the same manner that they attack Christianity? I doubt it because they know 350 million Muslims will violently protest and possibly have an uprising. Homosexual activists attack Christianity because they are bold and know that little will be said and nothing said within their allies in the media, but they dare not attack Islam which also condemns homosexuality because they know that it would cause a violent backlash. In others words, they are quite simply too cowardly to attack someone who will fight back. That goes not only for homosexula activist but people like the ACLU too. Did you ever hear of the ACLU suing an Islamic organization becuase of comments made or actions taken? Of course, not! The ACLU is scared to.
This whole lawsuit is a joke that the judge should dismiss with glee. I predict that when Christian law firms ban together and get with conservative Senators and congressmen, this type of attack will be extinguished. It is an attack on scripture, an attack on freedom of religion, and an attack on America which was founded by Biblical standards.
I say that if Mr. Fowler is wanting to sue a Bible publishing company, he should also sue a Koran publishing company as well. After all, is that not fair since both condemn homosexuality? Is that not the fair thing to do? How about that judge? Would he not agree that if the Bible is probed and prodded for "hate speech" (quite sickening isn't it?), should the Koran not have the same treatment? Fair is fair - except when dealing with the far left. They do not want to be judged, yet they are the ultimate judges. To be quite blunt, Mr. Fowler doesn't read all of the Bible or he would know that God's word will last for eternity - unchanged and unapologetic!
