It is rare to find a book that incorporates desperation, history, politics, intrigue, law enforcement, Christianity, biblical principles, radical environmentalism, animal rights, futuristic technologies, out of the body experiences, deadly cults and tongue branding, in a free and easily accessible format. Internet columnist and author Jim E. Reames provides all of this and more with the new web publishing of his book Valley of the Dry Bones.
Valley of the Dry Bones is a disturbing look at a futuristic America where the federal government has all but collapsed and Christians are maliciously persecuted. It is a searing indictment of the ultimate result of excessive taxation, political correctness, animal liberation, sexual exploration, secular humanism, and environmental extremism on the American culture. The dangerous results of such ideologies are vividly illustrated in a world where logic no longer dictates policy and popular culture is controlled by a radical agenda that seeks to create its own version of the Garden of Eden.
Jim Reames takes us on a disturbing journey into the minds of those who hate Christianity, Capitalism and traditional moral and values. The central character, Sheriff John Turner, is caught between enforcing the law and the dictates of his conscience as the world around him continues to disintegrate into a tangled web of hate, persecution, corruption and perversion. Dramatically affected by his service in Vietnam Sheriff Turner is immersed in corruption and guilt while being targeted by a hateful grandson, Christian militants, and a deadly cult.
The author explores the concept of “the spirit of the bayonet” while introducing a variety of unsavory and unique characters as well as a worldwide eco-fascist movement known as Direct Confrontation International. Numerous twists and turns and a completely unexpected ending helps make this a powerful story for Christians and non-Christians, conservatives and liberals, alike. Nearly apocalyptic in nature, Reames vision of the ultimate politically correct future is drawn from the events and movements that appear in the headlines daily. Valley of the Dry Bones is definitely unlike any other book you have ever read.
Valley of the Dry Bones is actually a paraphrase of the Old Testament verses Ezekiel 37:1-10. Many of the remembered experiences of the main character Sheriff John Turner are the personal memories of the author when he was a street cop back in the 1960s and ‘70s.
Originally written back in 1991 and hardback published in 1992, “Valley of the Dry Bones” is NOT available in bookstores.
