Editorial: Socialism Comes To Arizona
By Editor (10/02/08)
Up to a few years ago, Arizona was an oasis in the desert that was fairly stable and generally economically viable.
However, a very significant immigration by folks escaping from "The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia" has infected and tainted the Arizona politic.
These political mush-minds ran from oppressive "The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia" to Arizona and promptly started to demand Arizona adopt the same stupid Socialist system that has driven Kalifornia into bankruptcy?
Tucson long ago went Socialist (I used to like Tucson very very much), the fact is that most of the economic engine for Arizona is centered around Phoenix. (The Valley Of The Sun)
Arizona is on an economic and social spiral not seen for many years. I grant that the economic issues are significantly effected by national influence.
But, the Arizona economy has been stressed by the new Socialist demands for something for nothing and social engineering by government mandate.
Arizona politicians have run wild with Socialist schemes that just waste the taxpayers dollars and continue to destroy businesses for the sake of Political Correctness.
Strangely as businesses get strangled by Socialist schemes taxes revenues dwindle?
Communities screaming for more tax dollars waste money on unneeded street prettying projects?
Millions of dollars are being spent for "Light Rail" systems that will serve practically nobody?
Four lane freeways are being converted into 3-lane highways with HOV lanes thus making sure the traffic jams will get worse, waste more gasoline and increase emissions from vehicles.
Never mind that HOV lanes create horrific traffic problems and crashes! Duh!
Unless somebody gets their head out of their a**, Arizona will become another state that was outstanding and just become a blip that was a great state.
November 2008 may well be the turning point, state propositions (as before) offer great promises while advancing Socialism.
If the electorate votes Socialist, Arizona will continue to crumble and will become a historical note about great states.
