Intimidation Tactics Aren't Reflected in the Polls
By Nina May (10/11/08)

Pseudo feminists, who claim they want the advancement of women in all professions, are displaying not only their hypocrisy but also their selective support of women climbing the professional ladder. Madonna, the aging singer who wowed the music scene over a quarter century ago, made a fool of herself at her Madison Square Garden concert when she screamed over and over that Sarah f*****n Palin was not invited to the show. She became practically unhinged by her apparent, transparent disdain for the female Governor of Alaska and Vice Presidential nominee of the Republican Party. Oops . . . maybe that is the cause of her manic rantings. Its ok for these self-proclaimed feminists to pick and choose what woman they will support, but not ok for voters to choose what black candidate they will support.

The intimidation tactics have escalated during this presidential election and the issue of race is a key plank in the Democrat agenda to not only suggest, but declare that if Obama does not win, it is because racists refused to vote for him. Even James Carvelle presented unveiled threats that there would be riots if he does not win considering the polls, at the time of this writing, have him beating John McCain by a few points.

But what is missing in the polling and the calculations of who the ultimate winner will be is the blatant discrimination against Sarah Palin because of her conservative position on issues, and the media’s unabashed in-kind support for Barack Obama. There is a chilling across America during this campaign and many people are reluctant to declare whom they will vote for because of potential repercussions. We have heard of college students being forced to write pro-Obama essays and if they refuse they are ridiculed and mocked by the teacher and fellow students. The teachers union in Virginia sent an e-mail to its members to wear Obama’s colors to school and encourage the kids to work on his campaign. Friends have reported their McCain bumper stickers being scraped off their cars and yard signs for McCain being defaced.

Another friend in our city said Obama supporters constantly knock on his door demanding to know who he will vote for and tell him if he does not support Obama, he is a racist. His response, “I am Korean, how can I be a racist. I am in a smaller minority than he is.” Another friend who teaches acting took one of her students to audition in Hollywood and when they heard that her last name was Cheney (not related) they went ballistic in front of this little girl, cursing and screaming as though this little girl had anything to do with the election.

I asked a teenaged boy in Florida who he thought would win, and what is he hearing on the ground. He said that McCain supporters speak in soft whispers about their support because they don’t want to deal with the attacks by the Obama people. They just keep their powder dry. He wisely said, “If Barack is only up in the polls by 6%, then McCain will win, if it is more, then Barack will win. This is a young man who has never heard of Governor Wilder or George Wallace or the polling phenomenon where people don’t vote the way they tell pollsters they will for fear of retaliation. He just knows instinctively that McCain supporters are keeping their heads down because there is a big target on their backs if Barack does not win.

There truly is a level of concern in communities about potential violence . . whether he wins or not. Read the blogs and responses to columns like this and it will be a chilling wake up call. One blogger wrote, “When Obama gets in all whites and Christians will get theirs.” Another read, “We are going to cut off the head of anyone who doesn’t support Barack Obama.” They really aren’t hard to find, just read any pro-McCain article and see the pro-Obama postings. The ones that really get me though are the responses to press releases we send to publications, editors and producers. Some of them are so vile, you can’t reprint them. So much for objective journalism.

But these intimidation tactics are going to backfire on them in a way they have not anticipated. There is a schism in the Democrat party over the nomination of Barack Obama because of his radical positions that most moderate to conservative Democrats don’t embrace. But, if he loses, Democrats will not be targeted, it will be Republicans. But think about it, Republicans would not vote for a Democrat whether they were black, white, Hispanic, male, or female. They might jump the isle if it was a very conservative Democrat like Sam20Nunn or even Joe Lieberman, although not totally conservative, is very popular with Republicans. They would, however support a black Republican candidate like Micheal Steele . . . but the media and the liberal elite would be giving him the Sarah Palin treatment and they would not be called racist because of their opposition to him. So if there are riots or whatever James Carvelle was suggesting, if Obama doesn’t get elected, the Democrats are going to have to look internally at their failure to nominate a candidate that inspires people instead of intimidating them.

With the irrational opposition to Sarah Palin, and unfettered adoration of Barack Obama, it is not hard to see a polarization of beliefs in this country, and a reluctance of many voters to let their selections and opinions be known. I think that young teen in Florida, who perceptively recognized the hidden element of intimidation people are experiencing in this election cycle, has prophetically determined the outcome. Many Republicans are just either holding their noses and voting for McCain just because Barack is too frightening an alternative.

We have already seen both parties ostensibly morph into one in this recent20$700 billion bailout. When you have a Republican president standing shoulder to shoulder with self-proclaimed socialists like Maxine Waters, to stick the American people with a bill the Democrats ran up, you know there is something not right in the universe. Then to see BOTH presidential candidates thumb their noses at 90% of the American voters who sent their messages loud and clear not to vote for it, you start getting the feeling that it doesn’t really matter which one wins since they are all singing off the same sheet of music.

But what does matter is that what Barack Obama and his very radical cadre of supporters have in mind for this country is abject socialism/Marxism and to give him unbridled access to our freedoms, with the entrenched intimidation tactics based on racism and discrimination of those who disagree with him, you have a recipe for disaster. McCain might not be a great choice, but Sarah Palin is. And you can tell she is by the absolute meltdown of the media, the Democrat Party, Hollywood, academia and every other established institution that are fronts for the Democrat party. She is the future of the party and has emboldened more people to speak out and have the courage
of their convictions.

When a popular icon like Madonna feels compelled, in a concert, to drop the F-bomb, several times, on Sarah Palin, you know Palin has struck a chord with the liberal elite and they expose themselves for what they really are . . . phonies who try and intimidate and marginalize voters who support conservative values over what they think we should all believe. This is the new form of discrimination we are seeing in the country, and it is causing people to stay in their political closets . . . until Election Day.
