I Don't Understand

I keep hearing how the Dems are going to pick up at least 20 seats in Congress.
How does that happen when:
* the Dem majority Congress' approval numbers are in the single digits;
* the Dems promised to end the Iraq war in their first 100 days in majority (that was 22 months/almost 700 days ago) - not only did they fail to keep that promise but they also approved additional war funding and a troop surge;
* the Dem Congress is responsible for the sub-prime debacle;
* the Dem Congress was unable to pass a bailout bill until they added $120B in pork.
I keep hearing Barak Hussein Obama is way in the lead. How does that happen when reportedly:
* he associates with terrorists like Khalidi and Ayers;
* he has voted 4 times to NOT protect the rights of the just-born - that's right, a baby shortly after birth is still not protected from abortion;
* during the bailout debates, he told the Congress to call him if they need him - apparently he felt they didn't need him;
* he wants to raise taxes on people over $250K, oh wait, $200K, oh wait, $150K, oh wait, $120K;
* he's going to pull the troops out immediately, oh wait, he'll discuss a plan with the generals and work out a time table;
* Rev Wright, my friend, my family, my mentor, "I could no more turn my back on him than I could on my white grandmother" - anyone hear that cock crow three times?
* frustrated people clinging to their guns and their religion - need I say more?
I just want to remind you that it is not Bush's war. By the Constitution, Congress declares war, finances war and makes peace treaties - the President is essentially the head general waging the war. If this Congress really wanted to end the war the troops could all have been home in time for Christmas LAST YEAR!
Congress controls the budget, banking and finance - not the President - although he gets to appoint the Federal Reserve Chair and the Secretary of the Treasury with Congress' advice and consent.
If the Dem Congress wants to fix things in the next four years, they should have done them the last 2 years while they were IN CHARGE.
The Republicans are ruining the country? How? They're not in charge!
Trivia fact: 11% of people polled in NJ will not vote for Palin based upon the performances by the Saturday Night Live actress portraying her.
