We Must Fight Faith with Faith

The enemies we face in America cannot be defeated by good arguments alone (there are no good arguments to support what they believe.) This fact is easier to understand when we are fighting radical Islam overseas. Hatred of Jews and Christians is not logical but rather theological. Fanatics who turn to religious texts which enjoin the faithful to deceive, to despoil, and to dominate the unbeliever view arguments as simply another weapon to weaken the enemy.
These enemies, the Islamicists, will only be defeated when we persuade enough Moslems to either adopt another more benign religion or persuade enough Moslems to fundamentally change Islam into a new religion. We must fight faith with faith, ultimately. We must convert a majority of Moslems to a different system of belief based upon a rational and compassionate God instead of an irrational and vengeful Allah. Simply asking them to abandon Islam without anything in its place will not work. We need look no farther than our enemies at home to grasp this truth.
Who are these enemies at home? Many are followers of Saul Alinksy, who savage and intolerant atheist was his clearest article of faith. Many are druids of academia who fancy Darwin’s Theory of Evolution to be Darwin’s Law of Evolution and who worship Gaea instead of God. Many are acolytes of the Prophet Marx. Their slavish devotion to this godless religion created the most horrific places in human history. Not only did Lenin, Stalin, and Mao purport to champion this awful creed, but so did Mussolini and Hitler (little known but critical facts.)
Many of our enemies at home are hedonists who have deep faith in the holiness of shameless excess. Hollywood and professional sports seem overflowing with these pathetic creatures, addicted to scandalous fame, sexual depravity, and substance abuse. It is error to think that this sad lot does not have a religion. There religion is simply a visceral rejection of the God of Jews and Christians. The gay throngs who enter churches like storm troopers practice the same vicious sacraments of storm troopers. Their faith is hopelessly wrong, but it is faith nonetheless.
Our enemies, here and abroad, seem to hold a bewildering variety of different religions. Superficially, that is true. But we have seen this before: Nazis, Bolsheviks, Fascists and other miscreants of the early Twentieth Century were superficially different, but they were essentially the same. Pull the labels back and they all held the same beliefs: passionate rejection of the Judeo-Christian God and His rules, contempt for the individual and his soul, distrust of the idea of truth, mockery of human liberty. Perhaps we should call it the Religion against the God of Jews and Christians.
The more people who believe this religion, the harder it will be to win this war. When Germany began to adopt this faith – Heinrich Heine prophetically wrote about the process and its consequences in 1834 and other authors regularly noted what was happening in Germany during the next hundred years of descent – then millions of educated, healthy, modern people willingly embrace the malignant faith of Hitler. Before Hitler came to power, serious Christians were a tiny percentage of the German population. They were swept away by followers of an entirely different religion.
The war today is for souls. On one side are those of us who know that the God of Torah, the God of the Cross, is the only true answer to the pain and the trouble of existence. History shows what this faith means. Israel, the only nation in the Middle East that works, is the sanctuary of the Jewish people. America, the nation founded by devout Christians and which welcomed Jews from its inception, is still the hope of the world. America and Israel work in ways that other nations simply do not.
Our enemies know this, of course. While our candid enemies, the mullahs, may openly call one the Great Satan and the other the Little Satan, our quite enemies, domestic Leftists, secretly nurse the same hateful sentiment. Europe, where God is almost dead in national life, picks on these two nations as the special object of relentless contempt. Why? Both nations are founded upon trust in our good God.
The war is to the bitter end. Our enemies, here and abroad, seek nothing less than “The Final Solution to the Judeo-Christian Question.” They win when we lose faith. As long as we believe, as the Britons did in the last months of 1940, that defeat was impossible, then victory is sure. If we trust in God, He will trust in us.
