Headlines After Baghdad's Fall
By John David Powell (04/11/03)
One rather irksome aspect of wall-to-wall war coverage is the insistence of journalists to interview journalists. Peter Arnett is an extreme example of what can happen. Whether the result was good or bad is your call.
So, why do journalists interview other journalists? Laziness is one reason. And that brings me to this week's column. I shall break my own rule (which I can do because it is my rule) and rely on other journalists to fill my space.
You say you don't have enough time to read all the news in the world, even with cable or DSL? Is your work getting in the way of your Internet research? If so, you will appreciate the collection of headlines on the day after Baghdad's fall.
