Okay, I Get It . . . Al Gore Is REALLY Mad!
By Debbie Daniel (06/08/04)
Bless his heart, did anyone try to explain to Al Gore that we looked for more chads, but couldn’t find them? We scoured the Florida swampland and there were none to be found. We’re sorry Al, we really are.
I just wish someone could have helped him avoid such a public melt-down. It was hard to watch a grown man come “un-raveled” like that.
And to think, he could have been our Commander-In-Chief . . . the man to “push the button.”
Whoa, thank God for the Supreme Court for being so insightful. Whew! We were certainly spared that grief.
Of course, I’m talking about the speech Al Gore made to the Moveon.org group last week. If you didn’t see it, you missed quite a show; the man came “un-hinged.”
After witnessing the onslaught of that “emotional breakdown,” I felt as though the real Al Gore had been bursting at the seams to show his true colors . . . fire red!
Aren’t we glad he was able to release all that bottled up despair? Doesn’t it hurt you to see someone finally lose it like that? We all hope he gets better in the coming days.
Oh, and speaking of despair . . . I’ve noticed Ted Kennedy is in hiding these days. I’m beginning to believe he’s already in “rehab” for anger management. Maybe he and Al can go through therapy together. Each will certainly need a friend; what a great support group. Go Al! Go Teddy! You can do it!
With this latest outburst from Al Gore, I understand that not only should Donald Rumsfeld and Condoleeza Rice resign immediately, but Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Faith, and Stephen Cambone should too.
And then after all these people resign, the President is supposed to condemn Rush Limbaugh for his words on national radio about the Abu Ghraib prison abuse.
Wow! What a roll call, Al. Let’s see if you can do that again.
And if anyone thinks this “tongue in cheek” humor is out-of-line, it’s Senator Hillary Clinton that excuses this kind of talk as “politics;” so if “Hil” says it’s okay; I guess we have permission to continue.
In fact, if you notice, it’s not the President’s administration that’s making disparaging comments. It’s all coming from Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator Ted Kennedy, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Former Vice President Al Gore, Former Secretary of State Madelyn Albright, Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, Former Senator Bob Kerry,
9/11 Commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste, Senator Robert Byrd, and yes, Sir John Kerry.
I’m talking about national leadership: statesmen, politicians, people that know better; people of position and people in high places. They are the ones talking like this.
They use words and comments as follows when speaking of George W. Bush: his Neanderthal judicial nominees; incompetent; ignorant; arrogant; lacks leadership; not a leader; stupid; reckless cowboy; lacks knowledge; conjured up a war; liar; can’t communicate; murderer and inexperienced to run a war . . . just to name a few.
These are comments by our top national leadership that are heard by the world; heard by our soldiers, heard by our enemy; heard by our young children, and they want George Bush to shut Rush Limbaugh up?
Why don’t we compare apples to apples here? Unless you’re going to put Mr. Limbaugh in the same category as all these (supposedly) fine upstanding statesmen, politicians, etc., why start with him?
You know why? Because there are no individuals on the “right” at this level making such insidious statements as the democrats are.
Do you hear that kind of rhetoric from Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, or Tom Ridge? These are decent human beings trying to do their job, and all that the top brass democrats can do is berate them.
Oh, you may want to hang something on Dick Cheney for his speech several weeks ago where he stated facts of Kerry’s voting record in the Senate. But I don’t think that qualifies; at least it doesn’t go to the same low standard of speech. Nice try!
So, don’t you wonder why they would go after someone like Rush Limbaugh? We’re talking “talk show host” Now, that just beats it.
The Democrats are making total fools of themselves and that sheep’s clothing is starting to come off . . . we see the “wolves” that they are.
Whatever name you might want to call me – just remember – Hillary likens this name calling to “just politics.”
She told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday after answering to the allegations of calling the President “stubborn and arrogant,” that it’s “All (chuckle, chuckle) part of those political hats we have to wear.”
After listening to her giggle on that note . . . I thought, oh, isn’t this fun? It’s just all part of a political game.
Well, Mrs. Clinton, we’re taking notes from your playbook . . . it seems to work just fine. And besides . . . you’re right, old girl, as long as we can have fun in the name of politics, that’s all that matters, right?
If it’s just a political hat you wear when you undermine the authority of the President of the United States in the middle of a war, you send chills up and down my spine, dear woman.
I think you need to have a visit with Al and Ted, and show them a few of your tricks, because those boys are falling apart. They don’t seem to hold up as well as you.
So, I take it back, Al wasn’t really mad; it’s just politics . . . we’re all having a good ole, “hil”-arious time here.
Aren’t we?
