“Round-Up” In The Old Iraq Corral!
By Debbie Daniel (09/29/04)
George W. Bush is definitely proving he is a UNITER. We’re having a regular “Round-Up” in Iraq; the terrorists are gathering in one place and “John du Jour” Kerry bellyaches, “It’s time to go . . . let’s get the heck out of Dodge.”
Well frankly, my dear . . . I don’t give a hoot!
While Kerry proclaims, “The terrorists are being drawn to Iraq like a magnet . . . it’s become a haven for terrorists,” all I can say is, “Hallelujah and Hip-Hip-Hooray!” Why not bring them all together . . . sounds like a “MASTER PLAN” to me. And one that’s being orchestrated by a Maestro . . . can’t you see the genius in this?
The President has been very cunning in the execution of this war. A patient man, waiting to make his move, and he won’t be distracted. It’s brilliance at its best . . . if we’d just step back and let him do his job.
How better than to gather all the vermin in one spot . . . then take them out in one fell swoop. The President will know the right time to make his move; if Kerry would just keep his mouth shut (he’s not the guy you want with you on a deer hunt).
Even Mr. Iyad Allawi, the interim Prime Minister of Iraq, announced a few weeks ago, “The terrorists are still pouring in.” Bush isn’t afraid of them, nor is Mr. Allawi, but I keep hearing the clarion call to “cut and run.”
What is all this yammering regarding an exit strategy? Kerry constantly carps that the President needed to go into this war with an exit strategy.
Let me digress . . . I didn’t hear him complaining that it’s taken us 60 years to get our soldiers out of France and Germany . . . where was “your” exit strategy for those troops, Mr. Kerry? You could have proposed that one as a Senator. But it’s George Bush who’s making that happen, and I’m confident those soldiers will be coming home soon.
Now back to this war. Terrorists usually scatter, but are now congregating in one place, and Mr. Kerry says it’s time to gather our marbles and go home? Oh, that’s real courage.
Facing the enemy at this time is the best shot we may ever have; if we run now, we may be running the rest of our lives. Wake up folks, the giant is standing over us and this may be a great opportunity to wound him with a permanent disability.
But old “Soup of the Day” Kerry says, “I will never take my eye off the ball.” Well, what ball is he looking at . . . his crystal ball?
One day he looks into it and announces: “If you don’t think we’re safer with Saddam Hussein gone, you don’t have the right to be President.” The next day, he looks into that same ball and says: “Even though Saddam is gone, we are not safer.”
Would someone take a hammer to that ball? I don’t care what kind of eye he keeps on it, he doesn’t make sense.
I’m confident President Bush has the scope on his gun set . . . and he’s waiting . . . very patiently . . . for the enemy.
Every time I listen to John Kerry, I hear a man who has done nothing his entire adult life but “put down on America.” Does the man not have one good word for this great country?
Imagine going to a football game and watching the home team supporters do nothing but “boo” their players. Of course it doesn’t mean you’re any less a “fan” or true “patriot,” does it? (Hmm???) But I’d sure question your motive if that’s all you did
Mr. Kerry does nothing but “boo” America.
You can tell me all you want that he has America’s best interest at heart, but right now we need a little cheerleading. I’ve had enough listening to the daily drones of how bad things are . . . it’s discouraging.
I love my country; I’m proud to be an American, but John Kerry makes me tired.
Worse than battle fatigue is this “Kerry Fatigue,” and you can only take so much.
Mr. Bush has spent months getting all the players in the right position to go in and take the enemy out. Why would you want to spread yourself thin all over the world and set traps to catch the bad guys, when they’re all convening in Iraq?
Yes, it’s a risk, but it’s one we have to take. And it will speak volumes to Iran and any other country that is strategizing our demise.
The key ingredient is “patience” of which the Democrats lack profusely. They want victory now and won’t settle for anything else. They remind me of the kid at the grocery store who demands his mother buy him a candy bar at the check-out stand . . . Now! The kid screams louder, and that’s exactly what the “other party” is doing. But the firm and steady hand of George Bush just waits till it’s the right time. Does anyone see this “picture?”
The British philosopher, John Stuart Mill said it best: “War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”
John Kerry may have gone to war for four months against an enemy that never attacked us, but he has spent a life-time fighting against every military effort since.
If this is George Bush’s war . . . will it also be his victory? I’m willing to give him a few medals.
