Three Ways To Win The’04 Election
By James Bowden (10/18/04)
The three ways to win the ’04 Election are turn out, turn out and turn out. The polls are all over the place. Even if you pretend that President Bush is ahead of the margin of error, there’s a problem. The polls show the margin of statistical uncertainty only. The polls don’t estimate organization, fraud or passion. The Election will be won or lost on turn out.
The organization to get voters to the polls means a bounce up to 4% on Election Day. So, a 52-48 lead can be wiped out over a weekend. Some Labor Unions are noted for their ability to perform under pressure (although more and more Unionists vote Conservative). Some churches, which are protected from prosecution because of their ethnicity, get generous donations and can produce voters on demand. The effect on every Conservative and Libertarian partisan should be an energy pump. Assume you’ll lose if the polls are 4 to 6 per cent in your favor. Act accordingly to encourage like-minded others to vote. I felt it before Virginia’s Transportation Tax Scam Referendum in ’02. I was so thankful, when working the polls, I saw The People self-motivated to turn out to protect themselves.
The fraud to steal an election, even in a few key electoral states, would have to be mammoth to win. But, where is $300 million in Liberal ‘get out’ the vote money for just one month going? Who gets that money? Reports from Ohio, Michigan, Iowa and Florida indicate something is up. In ’00, California, New Mexico, and the Dakotas had reports of voter fraud. Today, New York and Florida share about 50,000 voters registered in both states. The old joke, “Vote and Vote Often”, isn’t funny anymore. Absentee votes from folks fraudulently registered under the Invitation-to-Cheat Act, known as Clinton’s Motor Voter Law, aren’t checked everywhere for veracity. At least my Virginia requires voter identification at the polls. Other states don’t require any ID. How unbelievable. You must show ID to cash a check, use a credit card, travel by airplane, but not to vote.
Talk to your local electoral board, sheriff and district attorney to see what can be done to verify absentee votes and new registrations before the election.
Passion turns out voters. The passion of the Anybody-But-Bush Liberals is clear. Their venom is real. My last op ed, Ten Reasons to Vote for Bush, got a lot of hate email. I mean cursing, name-calling, hate mail. So, where and what is the passion for Bush voters?
First, our passion should come from the stark reality of being a Nation at War. It may not feel like a World War, but then being back East as the frontier moved West didn’t seem like there was such cost to the Indian Wars (1608-1892). I know where 9-11 happened – and the rest of the fighting has been taken overseas. President Bush will serve us better than Sen. Kerry to prosecute World War IV, the Global War on Islamist Terrorism. It won’t be perfect or pretty or neat. The War will be focused on the offense to deal with threats. Every suicide bomber and non-Iraqi terrorist killed in Iraq could have come to the U.S. Kerry promises only to strike back after being attacked again.
Second, the sanctity of life, marriage and family is under attack by Liberals. Sen. Kerry voted for the infanticide, called Partial Birth Abortion, even though he says life begins at conception. President Bush signed the law banning this barbarism and will fight for life to the Supreme Court. Furthermore, President Bush will nominate judges who respect the Constitution enough to not write and execute laws from the bench. Also, President Bush supports the Marriage Amendment to protect marriage of one man and one woman from Liberal judges who act as black-robed Priest-Kings.
Third, there is an inextricable link between taxes and freedom. More taxes means less freedom. President Bush understands this, even if some other elected Republicans don’t. Lower taxes mean more economic growth – for everybody. Even if the only tax cut was for Kerry and his fellow billionaires, it would create jobs. Lower taxes insure more limited government which always means more personal, individual freedom. Sen. Kerry will raise taxes and bankrupt the Nation with Social Security and Socialized Medicine. President Bush will harness capitalism to reform and privatize Social Security and Health Savings Accounts. Capitalism always beats Socialism.
Please turn out, turn out, turn out in November.
