The Election Is Up To You
By James Bowden (10/20/04)
The Army teaches Officers and NCOs to take charge of all government personnel and property within their reach. When in charge, be in charge. Because, you are personally responsible for anything, everything, that happens or fails to happen. So, listen up Citizens. This election is up to you.
Even if you’ve never spoken a political word in your life, but simply done your voting duty, please speak to the people who know you, respect you and care for you. It’s important to reach out. Remember Florida in 2000? Look at the huge increases in voter registration and be afraid, be very concerned, about voter fraud. How many of these voters are illegal, only to be discovered, maybe, well after the election? Yet, we can respond if, for example, million voters encouraging one voter each, bring in a million extra votes. Big turnout can beat cheating.
You can increase turnout with your plain speaking, in earnest lovingkindness, with polite respect for disagreement and rejection – by asking everyone you know to vote for Bush. The facts make the choice obvious.
Bush’s War in Afghanistan destroyed the Taliban and disrupted Islamist Terrorists. Across the globe old European allies and Muslim allies are helping hunt Al Queda and other terrorists. The War in Iraq is as messy as every other big war has been. Mistakes were made – as in every war. Kerry is talking tough, but when it came to facing the obvious Hitler-like invasion of Kuwait in ’91, he voted ‘No’ against the liberation of Kuwait. Just as he was weak on defense for his entire Senate career of nothingness. Kerry betrayed his fellow Vietnam vets with allegations and self-confession of war crimes as soon as he could bug out of the combat theater. He was wrong on Communism and the Cold War and he is wrong on not understanding this is WW IV against Islamist Terrorism. He demeans our troops and allies saying, “Wrong war, wrong place, wrong time”, even though he voted to support it, before he voted against it.
Sen. Kerry is THE most liberal senator – according to all surveys. He is more leftist than Teddy Kennedy. Kerry voted against the Defense of Marriage Act (1996) which President Clinton signed. He voted for Partial-Birth Abortion – repeatedly. Some of Kerry’s own Roman Catholic bishops say it’s a sin, which must be confessed, for a Catholic to vote for Kerry because of his support for infanticide. Pres. Bush supports the sanctity of marriage and life.
Sen. Kerry said, “I want to make sure we have judges who interpret the Constitution
of the United States according to the law." That is exactly backwards. Pres. Bush will appoint judges, including the Supreme Court, who will stick to the Constitution and not make up laws.
Sen. Kerry paid only 12.8% in taxes on his $6.2m income last year. Yet, he demands every family or small business owner earning a penny over $200k pay a 45% tax rate. Such hypocrisy and moral relativism is the trademark of a tax, tax, tax and spend, big government programs, Massachusetts Liberal. President Bush will provide more tax cuts to all Americans, reform Social Security and Medicare. The U.S. will be more of an ownership society, where you, individually, control your retirement, health care and economic opportunity.
Pres. Bush will not fail in fighting the Islamist Terrorists overseas. Iraq may not reach Bush’s Wilsonian dreams for democracy, but the Iraqis will be more free and the world will be more safe with Saddam Hussein gone. This World War is too serious for a Liberal to posture leadership. Pres. Bush will do what is right, no matter what the French say, for America. Many Americans get it.
This weekend was the 13th year I have worked in the Republican booth at our little town’s fall festival. About 80,000 folks come by and the crowd this year was wearing Bush-Cheney stickers 8 to 1. Of course, this is in real Virginia, below the Occuquon. Yet, the enthusiasm, the ardor, to have a sticker, a yard sign and a bumper sticker was way beyond the passion to replace Clinton and his cronies in ’00. These voters get it. God Bless the Good People of the Commonweath of Virginia.
Please help bring out a record turnout for Pres. George W. Bush where you live.
