President Bush Is Right for Life And America

With the sad news of Chief Justice Rehnquist’s diagnosis of thyroid cancer, pro-life websites are abuzz about potential Supreme Court appointments. At 80, it is likely Justice Rehnquist will retire shortly and with G-d’s help and many prayers make a speedy recovery.
Tomorrow is the big day, and conservative pro-lifers must unite behind President Bush and re-elect him. Even if you disagree with many of the President’s more liberal policies (and I do) a Kerry victory would be disastrous. His contempt for our President, his inability to get past a “plan” for national security, his inexcusable voting record on the Iraq war, his disregard for American POW’s left behind in Vietnam, and his attempts to stifle speech critical of his campaign are among the issues that prove John Kerry threatens our freedoms.
A Kerry victory would ensure legal abortion for decades to come and be a tragedy for unborn children. Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton presumably included limits to protect unborn life and 30 years later there are no limits at all. John Kerry on abortion? He voted against a ban on partial birth abortion six times. He voted against Laci and Connor’s law. He voted against parental consent and notification laws. He voted against the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. He voted against informed consent laws that would protect women’s health and save their lives. He supports taxpayer funding of abortions. He would only appoint Supreme Court Justices who would support abortion on demand. No wonder Planned Parenthood took the plunge and for the first time endorsed a candidate for President: John Kerry.
Most American women believe the pro-choice movement is linked to women’s health while the pro-life movement is linked to women’s babies. That’s not true. Pro-lifers are the real advocates for women’s health but our inability to communicate this message effectively is the consequence of 30 years of a failed marketing strategy. It’s not because our pro-woman message has not been delivered with the pro-baby message. It’s just that the delivery service – the pro-abortion mainstream media – has gone postal, killing the pro-woman part of our message and it’s never gotten past the censors.
A Kerry presidency will aggressively undo all sensible limitations on “choice” that shield women from corrupt abortionists. Rather than protecting women’s lives, unchecked abortion businesses contribute to women’s deaths. Feminist groups should condemn abortionists who kill women. Instead, they ignore the women and defend the butchers. After Mark Maltzer killed 25-year old Diana Lopez by puncturing her cervix, Planned Parenthood allowed him to continue performing abortions at twelve of their Los Angeles mills. Feminist groups are complicit with dangerous felons, including those that commit violent crimes against women. Abortionist Brian Finkel was charged with sexual abuse by 60 of his “patients” and NARAL and NOW were oddly silent. Planned Parenthood often fails to report incidents of statutory rape by predatory men who enter their mills with very young female patients.
To illustrate the blatant hypocrisy marring Planned Parenthood’s “legal and safe” rhetoric, consider the fact that the Ortho Evra birth control patch killed 17 women from 2002 to 2004, and an FDA report reveals 21 associated life-threatening conditions including blood clots, heart attacks and strokes. Doctors reviewing the FDA report are alarmed by the findings. Not board-certified gynecologist Dr. Vanessa Cullins, who authors the column “Ask Dr. Cullins” on Planned Parenthood’s website. She fervently maintains the patch is safe. How many more women need to die before Planned Parenthood admits the patch is hazardous to women’s health?
When 18-year old Holly Patterson died following an RU-486 abortion at a Planned Parenthood mill, the National Organization for Women dismissed her tragic death as unrelated directly to the drug, although that’s not what Holly’s autopsy report indicated. NOW calls RU-486 “remarkably safe.” Why then, do one out of 100 women hemorrhage so badly they need surgery after using RU-486? Could it be the dangerous dose of prostaglandin drugs required to complete the abortion? NOW doesn’t inform women about that.
In states where “informed consent” laws are enacted, the courts strike them down. When it happened in Florida, the pro-aborts were ecstatic. They say informed consent laws are unconstitutional because they only apply to abortionists, not other doctors. Abortionists are unique “doctors”, however, since they see their patients only once. What if he is not aware of her underlying health problems? Tough luck for the woman, I guess.
It was definitely tough luck for “Dr.” Thomas Tucker’s patient. Already under investigation for murdering a newborn that survived one of his “procedures,” Tucker was advised by his staff not to perform an abortion on a woman with low blood counts. Mr. Tucker said, “You know we need the money. Just do it.” His patient died. So much for women’s health.
John Kerry stated: “I will support only pro-choice judges to the Supreme Court. Some may call this a litmus test.” Show Senator Kerry we have our own litmus test when it comes to protecting women’s lives. I don’t expect radical feminists or the abortion industry to abandon their deadly agenda. The rest of us must vote for President Bush.
