Money Can’t Buy You Love
By Bonnie Chernin Rogoff (11/04/04)
President Bush won fair, square and decisively. The Democrats are a sick, sorry sap of sore losers.
Despite the rich fat cat donors like George Soros and Peter Lewis, the 527’s and the backing of Hollywood moguls. Despite CBS and the New York Slimes with their unrelenting vicious attacks. They couldn’t do it. They can’t take it. They don’t get it. As the Beatles once sang, money can’t buy love. The Democrats are infused with hatred against religious values and John Kerry was an unlikable candidate. It’s no wonder they lost.
At first, the Kerry team was hoping for a legal challenge. John Edwards came out at 2 a.m., and was introduced as the next Vice President of the United States. Edwards said he’d “fight for every vote.”
He would have needed more than spitballs.
This was a landmark victory and a mandate for President Bush, with historic implications. The president won 58 million votes. More people have voted for this president than any president in history, including Ronald Reagan. The GOP took over both Senate seats in Georgia, for the first time in history. They’ve ousted the Senate Minority leader Tom Daschle and Representative John Thune, a Christian conservative, won his seat. The GOP extended their control of the Senate to twelve years.
This is the first time since President William McKinley that a Republican President won a second term while extending majorities in both houses of Congress.
Nevertheless, Democrats and their allies in the press continue to harp about how divided the country is. Not true. The only ones dividing this country are the mainstream media and their liberal affiliates. On CNN, a distraught Judy Woodruff implored Jeff Greenfield to find a way for John Kerry to win in Ohio. Today she insisted that President Bush had to mend fences and reach out. Democrats talk about unity, and that America is divided. They should know. They’ve mastered long division.
America rejected the despicable George Soros and his money machine, Moveon.org, the 527’s, the Springsteens and the Streisands. What went wrong? The hateful anti-Bush rhetoric made voters realize who’s right for America. We rejected Dan Rather and his forged documents. The Swift Boat veterans and book “Unfit for Command” showed John Kerry is no war hero. The Stolen Honor documentary that never aired made conservatives and veterans see red. The phony New York Slimes story about all those “missing weapons” finally backfired. Christian conservatives, veterans, families and young voters came out in droves for President Bush. The mainstream media went down in flames. The Internet news sites rule.
This election was a mandate for traditional and family values. All the gay marriage propositions were defeated. EVERY ONE.
Massive voter drives to get out the Democrat youth vote failed. As a group, polls showed the under 30 crowd was leaning towards Kerry but they weren’t motivated to come to the polls.
The future of our country looks very bright for conservatism.
American Jews, who only mustered up 22 - 24% support for President Bush here’s my message to you: Hang your heads in shame! You are ungrateful fools considering President Bush’s unwavering support for Israel. Ditto for liberal New York voters, who snubbed President Bush at the polls despite all the money he gave to save New York City in the wake of 9-11. Final exit polls show 55% of Americans feel safer with President Bush.
America rejected Planned Parenthood, NARAL, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, gay rights groups, civil liberties groups and unions. This was a victory for morality, religion and faith.
The Democrats have no message, and stand for nothing. John Kerry conceded, but questions remain. Will President Bush lead, or will he concede? Will he take charge and stick to conservative principles, or will he adopt a “conciliatory tone” and “reach out” (as many still fear) to the disenfranchised Kerry base? That would be a terrible mistake.
The Republican Congress must now take full control of every committee, with no concessions and no strings. The judiciary committee is most critical, and should not be a 50-50 split. Judges must be confirmed. The U.S. Supreme Court is at stake.
America chose President Bush. The Democrats and their ilk had their hatred served back to them on a silver platter. Their party just learned that money can’t buy you love come Election Day.
