Hey Libs, Bush Did Get A Mandate

The American people have a lot to be thankful for this year. We dodged a bullet in the election. If 140,000 more people had voted for John Kerry, in Ohio, we would have a communist hero heading for the White House. That did not happen and we can be thankful.
We have heard liberals declare that President Bush did not receive a mandate, but liberals have a very difficult time with the English language. Here are three definitions of ''mandate'' from three dictionaries.
1. An authorization to act given to a representative
2. The authority to carry out a policy, regarded as given by the electorate to a party or candidate that wins an election.
3. A directive given or implied by the vote of an electorate.
Authority to act in a particular way given to a government or a person, esp. as a result of a vote or ruling
The president secured a congressional mandate to send troops to Bosnia.
You will note that there is NO reference to the size of the victory or vote total. The president has a mandate if he wins by one vote or three million votes. Why do you think that these columnists and news persons--people who make their living using words--get this wrong? Could it be that they don’t like the mandate that President Bush is going to carry out?
Liberals are complaining that President Bush is loading his cabinet with people who agree with him? Wow, what a novelty. We never heard any complaint when Bill Clinton did that. Of course, the liberals in the media thought that Clinton and ALL his appointments were
right--and if a president is right, there will not be any dissent.
Well, guess what: President Bush is RIGHT.
President Bush has a mandate to fight the war against the terrorists anyway he sees fit. President Bush was right to get rid of Saddam Hussein, he doesn’t need to hear from old anti-war activists who never think it is right for America to use force. He does not need to hear false claims of support for the troops from the loony left that hopes our enemy will drive us out of Iraq. We do not have a draft. The soldiers in Iraq are all volunteers. We don’t need false sympathy from leftists who cry about sending our sons and daughters to die. If they have sons and daughters, they can’t be sent anywhere unless they enlist. Presidents don’t send our soldiers to die, they send them to defend America.
President Bush has a mandate to appoint judges that will follow the Constitution, not write new law. We don’t need judges who find gay marriage in the Constitution. We don’t need judges who think it is okay to dump on the Boy Scouts and longheld traditions.
The Senate needs to end the filibusters of judges by Democrats. Some people warn that if they do this they may regret it when the Democrats control the Senate. Nonsense, if we don’t appoint conservative judges now, we may never get the chance again. I have no problem allowing all judge appointments to get a vote on the floor of the Senate, even when the Democrats are in charge. I know that if and when the Democrats get control they will not let the 60-vote rule stop them. They will force through all their judges. Democrats can never be trusted to follow the rules.
We all need to fight back against the forces of evil within our country. In the next election we have a chance to gain at least four more senate seats. Let's keep up the good work.
