D.C. Chooses Sodomy Over Baseball

District of Columbia Mayor Anthony Williams has announced that the deal which would have brought Major League Baseball back to D.C., is now effectively dead. The marketing campaign for the Washington Nationals has been suspended and season-ticket purchasers are now being offered refunds.
D.C. Council Chairwoman Linda Cropp dashed the hopes of Washington baseball fans, by introducing and passing legislation which required that at least half of the construction costs for a new stadium come from private sources. Chairwoman Cropp is a liberal Democrat. She was spurred on by a local group calling itself "No D.C. Taxes for Baseball."
No D.C. Taxes for Baseball is comprised of several liberal groups including the League of Women Voters of the District of Columbia, the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, the Statehood Green Party, and something called Friends of the Earth. This coalition has spent $50,000 on their campaign against baseball. $20,000 of the fund was given by a D.C. landowner named Robert Siegel.
Siegel owns eleven properties on the land that the proposed stadium was to be built. Siegel has dubbed the area "D.C.'s unofficial Red Light District." He operates several homosexual night clubs, and pornographic movie theatres. Siegel is basically the mayor of 'Sodom on the Anocostia'.
Siegel and his liberal enablers waged a campaign which lobbied the District's most liberal council members. Much of the money put behind this effort was spent on radio ads, posters, and automated telemarketing. It was done under the guise of protecting the D.C. taxpayers. However, it was actually a battle which was waged and apparently won to protect the deviants of D.C. and those who profit from their unholy acts.
When do the League of Women Voters, the Legal Aid Society, and liberal Democrats care about wasting taxpayer funds?...Never!
However, if a great deal of the degenerate society was removed and a neighborhood cleaned up...those liberal groups would have less reason to exist. If deviants were sent packing...liberal Democrats would lose votes.
Our nation's capital has chosen the perverse needs of a few over the 'Great American Pastime.' Apparently, Washington has a great deal in common with Hollywood!
