The John Bolton Witch Hunt
By Irwin N. Graulich (04/14/05)
Talk about a travesty of justice. Thank God we do not have gallows and public hangings because the extremist partisans in our senate would condemn a thoroughly decent guy. It sounds like ancient Rome, but it is Washington DC, circa 2005.
Study John Bolton's record and you will find an outstanding public servant with an impressive character. Can we find an individual who worked for him and disagreed with some policies or decisions? I would certainly hope so.
Is there anyone in a management capacity or important governmental role for whom we could not find similar critics? People who do their jobs well make risky choices and become subjects of criticism, even hatred. However, better results will almost always emerge.
The latest American circus belongs to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations who is giving Ringling Brothers a good run for its money. Clowns Boxer and Biden, among others, lead a pack of buffoons who continue to embarrass America. Check out the quotes by leading anti-American European media sources, who have used various committee members' fodder to justify the current Administration's dysfunction.
Let's get it straight. Anyone who has not criticized the UN over the last decade should not be the American ambassador. The most despicable, corrupt organization since the Mafia, the United Nations needs a total overhaul. Otherwise, it will continue to pass anti-Israel and anti-American resolutions, while putting Syria and Libya on human rights committees.
John Bolton is a man who sees the greatness of America and the superiority of its Judeo-Christian value system. Barbara Boxer, Joseph Biden, et al disagree with that position. Ms. Boxer, chose to take three minutes of videotape out of a lifetime of government service, to show Bolton's incompetence vis a vis the UN. Talk about taking things out of context.
In 1994, Bolton had said, "Ten floors of the UN could be eliminated," implying that one third of the organization was a waste. Actually, the world would be a much better place if the entire building was converted into a homeless shelter, and the government officials in their fancy suits were sent packing. The only people that would suffer are the expensive east side New York hookers and exclusive restaurants who make a damn good living from these limousined bureaucrats.
Joe Biden's words of wisdom about Bolton included the profound analogy that making him ambassador is akin to "Sending the bull into the china shop." It is Biden's words that are full of bull. His phony hair plugs have obviously infected his brain.
When one of the most evil nations on earth calls you "human scum," as North Korea announced about Mr. Bolton, then you must certainly be an outstanding individual and wonderful human being. That is why Israel has always been a lightning rod for evil. When you stand for good values, Iran, Saddam, Syria, Fatah, Hezbollah, Hamas, bin Laden and all the world evils will criticize or attempt to harm you. And then they progress to the old reliable "Great Satan," The United States of America.
When the sickos at Codepink interrupt Senate hearings to scream, "Ban Bolton, not treaties," we know that we are dealing with modern day Chamberlain's who have no understanding of the world geopolitical situation and only understand radical feminist compassion as appeasement for evildoers. There is additional evidence of old George Soros working behind the scenes against Bolton, providing further proof that this state department official is probably the best person for the job.
So my fellow Americans, the real lesson in all of this is not that good will likely triumph and there will almost certainly be an Ambassador Bolton on First Avenue. Of course criticism is important, as is scrutinizing a person's record. However, it must be done with moral clarity. There is no person in world history from the latest Pope to Moses who cannot be shown to be a bad person by some fast talking, clever American lawyer who resides in the senate. Context and viewing the entire record are key components.
Boxer and Biden have attempted to bring down an honest, devoted public servant, while they allowed a crooked racist like Al Sharpton to run for president of the United States under their own Democratic Party banner. How sad is that?
