Time to Choose Sides Democrats!

For anyone wanting to read a sunny, upbeat column, I suggest you skip this one. There is a tremendous amount of anger in this one. So if you want happy, do not read this piece. However, if you want to hear the very ugly truth about today’s Democratic Party, and its leadership, please read on. Be warned up front, though, that I am not going to pull any punches here. I am not going to play word games or temper my rage at recent attacks on our troops by the certain Democrats.
The truth is it is time to choose which side we are all on in this war on terror. It is time to stop excusing those who stab our troops in the back, as Senator Dick Durbin did recently. It is way past time that we all stop excusing the modern day hippy Democrats who rather we would lose the war to terrorists than to see George W. Bush succeed. It is well past time we all open our eyes and see very clearly that the Democratic Party of today is more concerned with regaining political power than supporting our troops.
Now of course the Liberals who read this will be incensed that anyone would dare question their leaders’ motives our designs. Well let them be incensed, that is their problem frankly. If they cannot handle the truth they had better learn to at least listen to it, because make no mistake the time to placate their feeling is over and done!
The Democratic Party has, for decades now, been on a descent into the abyss of anti-Americanism. After 9-11, they woke up and saw, for the most part anyway, the need to be aggressive in fighting terrorism. They actually had a great opportunity to become a true party of the people once again. They had a golden opportunity to reverse years of putting their power in front of the national good.
For a little while, they did this. They saw the reality of terrorism and supported our war against the Islamo-Fascist monsters. Sadly, though it did not take very long for them to begin losing their courage in the war. They began to care more for political power than for America’s security and best interests. Slowly we have watched their greed for power devolve into outright hatred for President Bush.
Next, we began to see them turn their vitriol against the brave troops in the field. We heard Ted Kennedy call our troops part of the problem, and refer to Iraq as George Bush’s Vietnam. We heard Charles Rangel rail against the armed forces. We heard Bill Maher denigrate the intellect of our servicepersons. We have listened to our Democratic political leaders doing their best to become modern day Hanoi Janes, offering moral support to our enemies with their damnable accusations of torture and abuse against our troops.
We have increasingly heard them harp and harp on alleged abuses and tortures of terrorists and enemy combatants. We have heard them begin to call for US troops to be removed from Iraq, and for terrorists we hold to be given trials or released. Of course, these monsters would come right back to try to commit terrorist acts against us if released but Democrats do not care as long as they regain power.
Now anyone doubting my words or view of the Democratic Party needs only to take a listen to the words of Senator Dick Durbin. Recently on the floor of the United States Senate Durbin took his shot at our troops and painted them as no better than Nazis, Soviet Communists or Pol Pot. Of course, when confronted with his words Durbin displayed his yellow streak and tried to say his words were misinterpreted. He has since offered a very weak and unconvincing apology.
His words are very clear and in my view make him unfit to serve as a dogcatcher, much less a United States Senator. Here are his words describing the “torture” of detainees at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. “On one occasion, the air conditioning had been turned down so far and the temperature was so cold in the room, that the barefooted detainee was shaking with cold. ... On another occasion, the [air conditioner] had been turned off, making the temperature in the unventilated room well over 100 degrees. The detainee was almost unconscious on the floor, with a pile of hair next to him. He had apparently been literally pulling his hair out throughout the night. On another occasion, not only was the temperature unbearably hot, but extremely loud rap music was being played in the room, and had been since the day before, with the detainee chained hand and foot in the fetal position on the tile floor.
If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have happened by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime – Pol Pot or others – that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners.”
Are these NOT the words of a seditious man? Are these NOT words that will offer aid and comfort to our enemies? Their number one objective is to falsely paint America as evil and barbaric. Dick Durbin and his despicable rant has done more to further their agenda than anyone can imagine.
Senator Durbin knows what he said was wrong, and morally indefensible, but apparently, he does not care. He knows there are such vast differences between our troops and their treatment of enemy detainees and the way victims in Soviet Gulags, Hitler’s concentration camps, and Pol Pot’s killing fields were treated that no sane person could ever compare them.
Yes, he knows, but he cares more about his party regaining power. He knows, as his fellow seditious Democrats know, that discrediting Bush and our troops, is a way for them to regain power in America. If this strategy costs American soldiers lives, or costs us the war against terrorism, they are willing to pursue it to retake their beloved power.
Therefore, here is the bottom line. Dick Durbin showed himself to be a man who will sell this country and its troops out to get his way. Moreover, any Democrat who does not condemn his traitorous words deserves the very same acorn Durbin is receiving. If they really care about America then it is time they chose to put America’s best interest before their power.
Until they do, I am forced to look upon the Democratic Party as nothing but a group of fanatics who are perfectly willing to surrender this nation and subjugate it to the enemy in their pursuit of power. We are at war with Islamo-Fascists who want to destroy us. It is time we all take sides and the Democrats seem to be choosing against America.
